HELIBASE

1. By remote control, MJ12 has forced Jock to land at one of their helipads. JC must deactivate the weapons lock so Jock can blast his, and your, way out.

2. Enter the door in the east wall and take the stairs up to the flight control decks.

3. Go left to Deck 2. Read the datacube on the floor. Deck 1 flight control has been sealed, the troops are ordered to barracks. For access see Tech Sergeant McKinney.

4. Face left and look through the window. Down in the lower right you should see a two door hatch in the floor. It’s the weapon’s bay. If it isn’t open push the munitions bay button on the console.

5. Hack the security terminal on the south wall. Turn all three cameras "off" and set the turret to "enemies".

6. Go back to the hangar deck and to the munitions bay door you just opened. Jump down inside.

7. Walk forward and get the WP rockets from the trough in the floor.

8. Turn left and go to the workbench. There are rockets on the left end. Get the weapons mod (recoil) and apply it to the shotgun. Get two multitools and the nanokey to unlock the door. Read the datacube and find that the purge valve has been locked out – code is 99871.

9. On the left wall, right of the missile storage racks, is a grate at floor level. Open it and go into the tunnel.

10. At the intersection go left and stop at the entrance to the first tunnel you find on the right. If you need a hazmat suit (and you should have at least one) continue following the main tunnel to the end. Get the suit and come back here. I’ll wait for you.

11. Go west in the tunnel and down a short ramp. Jock warns you to be careful. Turn right and follow the tunnel around a few bends until you come to a point where the floor is tinged green and another tunnel branches up to the left. The path straight ahead slopes up also.

12. Continue straight and make the first left. On the pipes along the left wall you can find a lockpick.

13. Return to the bottom of the small ramp where you were when Jock gave you the warning earlier.

14. Continue straight and you’ll go into a room holding barrels of toxic stuff. Just inside the entrance is a keypad under a warning sign. We’re going to flood the barracks with toxic gas and take care of most of the guards in the barracks.

15. After you punch in the number, 99871, turn right, leave the room and go up the ramp to the main tunnel. Wait there until the gas clears. When you’re ready, do it.

16. If you face back towards the storage room you can see the gas swirling. When it’s gone everything is clear.

17. Go north in the main tunnel and take the first right. This leads you back into the munitions bay. Find the door in the SE corner and use the nanokey to open it. Follow the corridor and emerge on the hangar deck near the chopper.

18. Cross to the west side of the hangar and find the ladder going up to the roof. Before you go up drop enough stuff from inventory to clear out a space 4 rows long by two high. We’re gonna get a GEP gun from the roof, use it as few times then reclaim our inventory. There should be no guards alive on the roof. When you hacked the turrets they were taken care of. You can mostly stock up on foodstuffs. Inside the crate is a sword. Leave it. All that’s left is to search the two bodies and find the GEP gun. Well, you could shoot a few hoops, too.

19. Return to the hangar deck. If you need bio energy recharged use one of the bots now. Get the prod ready and enter the doorway on the opposite side of the hangar.

20. Go down towards the barracks. In my case there were only two guards left. One was sitting in a chair directly across from the entrance. It was easy to creep across and zap him. The second was in the bathroom. I just chased him around the lockers until I got close enough to zap him.

21. Search the bodies, of course. Go upstairs to the first locker. It’s unlocked. Open it and get a 100-credit chit from the lower shelf. Ignore all the rest of the stuff. The nanokey is to the munitions bay.

22. The next three lockers are locked. Instead of wasting picks you can shoot them open with the pistol. From the first get some 10mm ammo. The second is the jackpot. The nanokey is the key to the locked control room. The datacube gives up the keycode of the elevator, 989. The last locker contains a 50-credit chit and a multitool.

23. Underneath the last bunk is a sniper rifle.

24. Go downstairs and into the restroom. Find the urinals. Enter the last one on the left. Turn around and face the 5 storage lockers in the next section. Use the GEP gun and shoot the middle locker. Voila! All five lockers opened at once. All you get for your trouble is a medkit, a gas grenade and a candy bar. On the shelves left of the lockers you can get one more medkit.

25. Go upstairs to flight deck control. Turn left and go to control deck 2. Move the chair from the console and crawl through the grate underneath. Take the ladder down and jump off on a platform (not all the way to the bottom). Follow the tunnel a short way and you’ll find a bay with a military bot in it. Get as far away from it as you can and still see it while still in the tunnel (not too hard in the cramped space) then shoot it with the GEP gun. You can do it without taking any damage. Return to the control room upstairs.

26. Before you leave the control room close the munitions bay hatch. Go down the hall to flight control 1. Use the nanokey to get inside. Crawl under the console and through the grate. There’s no ladder here so drop down into the ductwork and go north. Use the light momentarily to get your bearings. Find the military bot and dispose of it in the same way as the first. You may take minor damage here. You could use a LAM but I think they’re too precious.

27. Leave the area and follow the tunnel south to the end. Drop down to the foot of the ladder, crouch, crawl into the tunnel and turn right. Open the grate and you emerge on the stairs leading to the barracks.

28. Go upstairs and return to control deck 1. Stop about halfway down the hall to the room. Fire a GEP rocket at the chair by the console then go into the room.

29. The wall safe that you just blew open contains two bioelectric cells. It’s on the east wall. Go to the console by the window and push the weapons lock button. Jock acknowledges he’s got control back.

30. Go back down to the hangar deck and turn towards the chopper as Jock fires the missile. Find the repair bot and replace the bio energy used while using the augmented light.

31. The blasted door is partially blocked and wrecked equipment is arcing around the doorway. The security panel requires three multitools to open. Heck with that. Go to the east side of the hangar and zero in on the security panel with the GEP gun and fire a rocket. This won’t stop the arcing but it clears enough wreckage so that you can run through the opening and take minimum, if any damage. Drop the GEP gun.

32. Reclaim the inventory items and run through the door. Push the "down" button on the elevator so the door will open then push it again once you’re inside.

33. Press the top button on the control pane and the door opens. Step out into Wan Chai.

 

WAN CHAI

1. While you’re in Hong Kong, don’t fire any weapons on the street. Don’t even show any. The Chinese cops will be on you in a second. Don’t steal in public either. Hacking ATM’s seems to be OK.

2. Stop just outside the elevator and face east. Notice the police station. Also notice the camera just above the elevator door. The building to front right has a few goodies inside. Forget it for now.

3. Walk straight north past some shops to the military policeman. Turn left and find the ATM. Hack it for 200 credits. Head east and take stairs on the right up to a café.

4. Listen to the Red Arrow guy try to put the arm on the business owner. He refuses then all of a sudden rats appear everywhere.

5. Go downstairs and turn right. Somebody wants the cop to go investigate a prank in a tea house. The copy negotiates a bribe before he goes. What a place!

6. Face left and go to the news vendor. Click on the datacube. Go into inventory and click on "images" and see a map of Wan Chai. Head south and look in the other shops. Notice the security bot. You end up back at the police station.

7. Reverse course and go back to the news vendor. Turn right, then right again and you should be heading south once more. Stroll along and eyeball the shops. Turn left just before the police station. Off to the right is the Joss Temple. You’ll be in there later. Left of the temple is the private compound of the Luminous Path triad. Tracer Tong is in there but you’ve things to do before you can get in.

8. Turn right and go to the wall past the temple. Right is the Old China Hand bar. Turn left and walk down the side of the temple past the trees then make another left. Notice the sign pointing down to Canal Road.

9. Make the next left and walk between the temple and the compound. Find the entrance on the right and talk to the guard, Gordon Quick. What kind of Chinese name is that? To gain the trust of the Luminous Path you must settle the matter of Miss Chow and a sword.

Tunnel Rumble

1. Head east back to the Canal Road stairs and go down. At the bottom you can watch a triad fight between the Red Arrow and Luminous Path. Don’t interfere. The Luminous Path guys all wear white suits, for the luminosity, I guess. When the fight’s done hack the ATM near the entrance for a hundred credits.

2. Walk along the wall to the soda machines. You can find a lockpick on a ledge.

3. Run north down the road until you come to an accident scene guarded by the police. Must have been a bunch of bribes to get this many cops down here! You can’t get past the cops at the barricades and if you talk to one you get the world-wide "nothing to see here" cop answer. You can, however, jump the barricade and not raise alarm. Get a lockpick from each of the white-suited stiffs and a hazmat suit from the dead policeman. If you have more than one hazmat suit, throw one away. After getting the hazmat suit you get 50 skill points. For barricade jumping, I guess. Go back up to the street.

Wet Work

1. Head west back past Gordon Quick at the compound gate. At the end of the compound turn right (north) and walk along the wall until you see the sign for the Lucky Money. Go left to the Tonnochi Road sign and then turn right into the darkness.

2. When you come into the light turn right and walk to the stairs at the end of the corridor. Take the stairs down to a room with two supply crates. Break them open and find a lockpick in each.

3. Exit south to the walk along the canal. Follow the walk and board the sampan. Talk to the girl and find out about treasure hunters and caved in tunnels. Buy a reload mod for 600 and apply it to the regular pistol. Now buy an accuracy mod for 750 and apply it to the stealth pistol.

4. Go to the rear of the boat and up the stairs. Get three flares from atop the cardboard box.

5. Go back to the main deck and face the ladder. Move right and click on the paper lantern hanging on the bulkhead. A secret door opens behind the cardboard box. Smash the box and crawl inside. You find a repair bot and a bioelectric cell. Left of the bot is a locked box. Open it with a pick and get the 100-credit chit. The boxes contain Zyme. Leave them.

6. Leave the secret room and find the ladder going below decks. Head aft and get a medkit from the crate. Go forward. Read the datacube by the mattress against the left bulkhead. Open the crates and find a bunch of candy bars and soy food.

7. Go back to the main deck and move towards the bow. Climb the ladder to the bow and look south. Down and left is a small dock with an overhead cover. Now is the time to upgrade swimming to trained. Do it then dive in the water and swim to the little dock.

8. It’s easiest to climb up on the dock from the front, not the side. Open the door and go inside. Pick the lock on the chest and get the bioelectric cell. Go up the stairs and get the medkit from the crate. Talk to the resident then take the ladder up to a small platform by a door. Push the button and emerge by the Tonnochi Road sign.

9. Head south until you come to a depression with a set of stairs to the left going down. Take the stairs down and follow the twists and turns. When you come to where it branches left to another set of stairs, keep going straight. Pass a wooden bridge and around the next left turn is the Old China Hand sign. Just past the sign is a very dark, hard to see door. Open it and go inside. Turn left and enter the main bar area.

10. Wait a few seconds and a guy will mistake JC for Paul. Keep talking to him until he spills the beans. Since you’re using the walkthrough, don’t waste any money on blueprints and expensive weaponry.

11. Do the usual search for foodstuffs and liquor if you need it. Talk to the patrons and the bartender. Go right of the bar and up the short stairs to the kitchen. Go through the door in the east wall beside the sinks.

12. Once you get inside the freezer find the stack of crates. You can climb them and get on top of the pipes that circle the room. It’s a little difficult because the ice makes control of JC difficult.

13. Once on the pipes creep to the north side and go through the first ventilation grate. Turn left and follow the passage to a ladder. Descend and keep going. Soon you’ll come to a flooded shaft and a "Maintenance" sign.

14. Ready the crossbow with regular darts. Jump in the water and swim through the tunnel and exit to the flooded roadway. Swim left and you’ll eventually find air. Don’t go up on the roadway. Stay in enough water to swim. Two monsters will attack you. One or two bites and you’re history. You can kill them with 4 or 5 darts each.

15. Once the monsters (Karkians) are dead scan the walls for darts. Some of your shots might have been wild and the darts can be recovered. Go to the west end and find the body on the pipe. Search it and get a bioelectric cell and an augmentation canister. Save the aug. We’ll use it later. Once you’re done swim back to where you started and go back to the Old China Hand.

16. Take the exit back to the canal. Head west then north past the small bridge. Follow the path to where it branches right. Go right and up the stairs. You come out by the Joss Temple.

Maggie Chow

1. Head north along the compound wall until you see the Lucky Money sign. Turn left and go to the Tonnochi Road sign. Turn left again.

2. Go all the way to the end of the street where you can find a bridge over the canal. Cross the bridge and turn right (north). Follow the canal to stairs leading down to Tonnochi road. It’s by two policemen.

3. Follow the street to a set of bluish columns. It’s 1313 Tonnochi Road, Queen’s Tower Luxury Suites (13 is a lucky number in Chinese, I believe).

4. Enter and go around the reception desk to the right. Make the first left and go into a lounge. Get a 50-credit chit from the table. As you’re leaving, notice the security panel left of the door. Hack into it. Turn all cameras "off" and "unlock" and "open" all doors.

5. Go left from the room and find the penthouse elevator. Push the button and wait. Inside the elevator push the "up" button. When it stops get out and walk up to the "maid", May Sung.

6. Follow May Sung into the living room and talk to Maggie. What a story she gives out! Basically she wants you to crack the Wan Chi police station to get evidence that she, and not the Luminous Path, is the one to be trusted. You also get a code, 87342 to aid you.

7. Leave Maggie, and with May Sung in tow, go to the far end of the room to the large glass-cased Buddha. When you get near it you can hear a mysterious buzzing.

8. Walk upstairs. At the end of the hallway is a golden Buddha. OK, this it for May Sung. Once you find Maggie’s security computer and mess with it May Sung will pull out a gun and whack you. Get out the prod, and while smiling brightly, zap May Sung between the eyes.

9. Click the button close to the golden Buddha. Go in the door. The only thing useful in the room is a 100-credit chit on the desk.

10. Enter the conference room across the hall. Read the books and datacube on the table. Read the datacube on the desk and learn Maggie’s birthday is 7/18. Hack the security terminal on the desk. You know the drill by now- all cameras off, doors unlocked and open. The last door in the hallway is to May Sung’s room. It’s squeaky clean.

11. Go downstairs through the living room and turn right. Go to the end of the hallway and turn right again. At the far end of the room is a paper lantern hanging from the ceiling. Go click on it and a secret panel opens.

12. Creep down the hallway and you’ll discover the source of the mysterious buzzing you heard by the glassed Buddha – a laser fence.

13. Sneak to the opening of the huge room. Go left and hug the wall. Stay crouched and the troops won’t hear you. Follow the wall all the way around the room to the computer terminal in the far corner. Hack the computer and click the selection to open the case containing the sword. No matter what Tracer Tong told you, you don’t have to actually take the sword. Opening the case is enough. The sword is a very good melee weapon but it takes up 4 spaces in inventory.

14. Creep to the niche in the south wall and read the datacube. It’s a recording of an interrogation of the late leader of the Red Arrow conducted by Miss Chow.

15. Creep into the SW corner and click the button on the hololink. So, Chow is working for Simons.

16. Get the pistol ready and make sure it has a fresh magazine. Creep down the wall to the entrance to the guardroom. Place a gas grenade as close to the left edge as you can. Creep back to the middle of the room by the sword container and face the guardroom. Creep right until you can see into the guardroom and locate one guard. Shoot at him then run to the sword container and duck down.

17. When the gas grenade goes off switch on Environmental Resistance (F9) and run to the guardroom. All five guards should be standing helpless in the doorway. Shoot them all once in the head and run into the far left corner of the guardroom away from the gas. Switch off the augmentation.

18. When the gas clears go to the locked cabinet and open it with two lockpicks. Get a weapons mod (clip), 20mm ammo, and Sabot rounds for the shotgun. On top of the cabinet is a lockpick. Apply the clip mod to the normal pistol.

19. Leave the way you came. Go into the room with the piano and find the exit. Make sure you have no weapons showing. Open the door and get in the elevator. Go down to the lobby and hit the street.

Cops

1. Exit the hotel and turn right. Follow the tunnel back to the canal.

2. Turn left, go to the little covered bridge and cross to the other side of the canal.

3. Go north to the last Tonnochi Road sign and turn right. Go to the end of the passage and turn right when you hit the compound wall.

4. Go to the Joss Temple and turn right. You should now be in front of the police station. If you look through the slit windows you see at least one guy inside.

5. Get the prod ready. Go to the keypad and punch in 911 (what else?), enter, turn the corner to the right and zap the guard. On the north wall is a door. Punch the button on the right side, run in and zap the second guard.

6. From the first guard get a pepper gun and a gas grenade. Read the datacube on the table.

7. Go into the communications room. The second guard also has a pepper gun and a gas grenade. Read the datacube on the counter. Hack the security panel and do cameras off, doors unlocked and open.

8. Go to the keypad by the trapdoor and use Maggie’s code, 87342. Go down the ladder into the armory.

9. Start on the north wall with the datacube. Beside the datacube is a LAM. A flamethrower and a LAW are at the opposite end.

10. On the east wall a napalm canister and a gas grenade are in front of the first set of lights. In front of the second set of lights is a plasma clip, 30-06 ammo and sabot rounds for the shotgun.

11. On the east wall is a suit of ballistic armor (leave it), 7.62 ammo and a bioelectric cell.

12. Lastly, on the west wall is a datacube with very unflattering information about Ms. Chow.

13. Go back to the entrance. Just past it is a ladder. Climb it to the roof. Exit right from the ladder. Wait for the guard to turn his back, then zap him with the prod. He has a pepper gun and a gas grenade.

14. Make sure you have no weapons showing and exit the station through the door you entered. If everything’s OK no cops will be looking for you.

15. Go north down the side of the police station. Turn left at the news vendor, then left again and head south through the market. The street ends at the other side of the police station. Turn right and go down the side of the small building. At the end is a door that should be open if you hacked the security panel in the police station correctly. Go inside.

16. The first crate has a sword. Ignore it. The second has a baton (ignore) and the third a lockpick. How disappointing. However, there’s a hidden panel on the right wall at the north end of the building. It’s also unlocked.

17. You’ll have to use your augmentation light for this. Open the panel. Inside is another panel that isn’t unlocked. On the left side of the opening is a keypad. Use one multitool to open it. Go through. Turn off the light.

18. Starting at the near end of the shelf, get a gas grenade, a multitool, read the datacube, get two pepper cartridges, a prod charger, a bioelectric cell, a lockpick and another gas grenade. That’s better. Go back through the panel. Make sure you have no weapons showing and exit the building.

19. Go back to the police station and head north. When you see the Lucky Money sign follow it to the stairs that lead down into the mall.

Lucky Money

1. As you make the left turn from the mall and head toward the club, notice the cubicle on the left where the guards hang out. There are four stationed here.

2. Next you pass the Quick Shop convenience store and finally walk down some stairs to the entrance of the club.

3. Talk to the Australian chicks sitting in the lobby. They ask to sponge 40 credits from JC to get in. Give it to them.

4. Go to the woman in the window and give her 25 credits to get JC in.

5. Enter the club. The first thing you see is the huge circular staircase in the center.

6. You need to walk around and talk or listen to everybody just for fun. However, there are a few you absolutely need to see. We’ll cover those. There’s one individual, however, who could be anywhere. He’s a would-be triad thug who used to work at the Quick Shop next door. He’ll give you the login and password of the store’s computer; management, code324. Matter of fact, if you just stand in one place long enough he’ll start orbiting you. He’s identified as "Thug", is dressed in black and has long sideburns. Make sure you talk to him before you talk to Max Chen.

7. Talk to everyone downstairs then take the circular stairs up. Go north from the staircase and walk up another flight to the top floor. At the opposite end there are four Russian sailors watching a girl dance on a pool table.

8. Go back to the second level, go to the bar and talk to the bartender. Ask all the questions listed but make sure you tell him you’re looking for Max Chen and that Maggie Chow sent you. He’ll tell you the entrance is just behind the bar.

9. Go behind the bar and down the metal stairs. At the bottom go through the door in the SE corner. It’s a triad conference room with five guys sitting around a long table. Notice the large windows that look out onto the first level dance floor.

10. Walk to the far end of the table and hack the security computer. Do the usual, cameras off, doors unlocked and open.

11. Turn around and click on the huge wooden doors. Walk through the room and talk to Max Chen. While he’s talking to you a raid comes down and presents you with an opportunity you can’t miss. Sure hope you managed to talk to "Thug".

12. For a good view, leave Max’s office and go through the conference room where there’s fighting with MJ12 commandos. Go through the broken windows to the dance floor. Stay around the edges of the shooting or you’ll get nailed.

13. Go to the SE corner of the dance floor and take the stairs up to the left. At the top turn right. If the bouncer is still there guarding the stairs down to the office, hang around and he’ll soon run off to join the fighting. When he does, go downstairs. If there’s a guard downstairs, wait him out. He’ll leave, too. Then you can grab both 100-credit chits in the open safe at the bottom of the stairs.

14. Once the fighting has stopped head for the exit and go check out the cubicle where the police hang out. Chances are at least one was killed. Usually only one is out patrolling, the rest are stuffed in the cubbyhole. Get the prod ready.

15. Follow the patrolling cop. When he’s away from view of the others, zap him. Go back to the cubbyhole, stand back and heave a gas grenade in. When it goes off run in and zap the rest of the cops.

16. Go to the convenience store next door. Walk in the door and turn right. The security computer is on the doorframe. Use management and code324 to get in – all cameras off, doors unlocked and open.

17. Go to the computer behind the counter and hack in. Press the "open safe door" option. Take both 100-credit chits from the safe behind the counter. Hack the ATM machine for 200 credits. Walk up and down the shelves. You can find a medkit and a multitool. Leave the store and go back to the club.

18. Search the bodies on the dance floor and work your way to the top. At least every commando will have a bioelectric cell.

19. When you’re done go back to the conference room behind the dance floor. Go out the door in the west wall and turn left at the corner of the next room.

20. Follow the short corridor and you’re standing in front of the freezer. The door takes 4 lockpicks to open. Not counting the food, the stash is pretty heavy-weapons oriented. Here’s a rundown of the loot inside.

Since this walkthrough isn’t oriented toward the heavy stuff, I’d save the lockpicks and not enter. If you’re using weapons other than what is suggested, you might consider going in.

21. That’s enough mayhem for awhile. Head back to Gordon Quick at the Luminous Path compound entrance. You should know where it is by now.

Tracer Tong

1. Talk to Gordon. He gives you the entry code, 1997. Use and go inside.

2. Cross the compound and go up the stairs to the entrance. Turn right and go down the stairs to the kitchen.

3. Go left through the wooden door and follow the corridor around to some stairs that lead down to a huge dining/dormitory/sparring room.

4. The far left picture on he north wall has a keypad next to it. Enter 1997 and the picture slides back to reveal a passage. Climb up on the table and follow the passage.

5. In the basement storeroom, push the button on the west wall. A panel slides back to reveal Tracer Tong. Talk to him.

6. Go west through the room, Tong’s office. At the door grab the 100-credit chit and the nanokey to Jock’s Tonnochi Road apartment from the desk.

7. Turn left and go all the way to the bottom of the stairs. Stand in the center of the raised circle while Tong deactivates the killswitch.

8. Go back upstairs to Tong’s office, turn right and go into the control room. Talk to Tong again.

9. Use the computer in Tong’s office to check email. Return to the stairway that leads down to where the killswitch was deactivated but turn left into medical before you hit the bottom of the stairs.

10. Get the bioelectric cell from the desk and use the med bot for a "heal all".

11. Exit med and go into the room at the top of the stairs. Get some sabot rounds by the firing range. On the other side of the room are a plasma rifle and ballistic armor. Ignore both. The two crates contain 20mmHE and weapons mod (clip). Apply the weapons mod to the normal pistol. Behind the pedestal that holds the ballistic armor is a third crate. It contains rockets.

12. Push the button by the large metal door and go down the first flight of steps. The crate on the left contains a LAM. Push the next button and continue down.

13. Use the repair bot to recharge your bio energy. The crate behind the bot contains tranquilizer darts. On the lip of the tank you can find a multitool and a rebreather. Ignore the rebreather. You should already have one, if not, take this one. The crate contains four flares.

14. Oops, almost forgot. Go back to the med lab. Inside is a doorway leading down to communications. Go there and talk to Alex. Go up the metal stairs to the catwalk. Follow it around to a cabinet at the far end. In the cabinet find a plasma clip, a candy bar and a multitool.

15. Exit the underground area and go back to the sparring room. Under the second picture on the north wall is a table. From this table get two prod chargers. The last table contains a sword and some throwing knives. Ignore those. Under a bunk on the west wall you can find a medkit.

16. Leave the compound and turn right. Follow the compound walls around to the Lucky Money sign and turn left.

Jock’s

1. Before we hit Versalife let’s check out Jock’s apartment in Tonnochi road. Go to the Tonnochi road sign and turn left. Go back to the entrance of the Queen’s Tower, where Maggie Tong lives.

2. Turn right and go between the glowing columns. Find the elevator and go up. Climb the stairs until you find the locked door to Jock’s apartment. Use the nanokey to get in.

3. Right of the door is a table. It contains another nanokey to the apartment and a sawed-off shotgun.

4. On the wall behind the table is the bedroom door. In the closet are Jock’s computer and some sabot rounds.

5. In the living room find the datacube under the TV. It has Jock’s login and password; flyboy, 5X5. Two shelves right of the TV is a lockpick.

6. In the kitchen and the fridge you can stock up on foodstuffs if you need them.

7. Login to Jock’s computer and read the email. Leave the apartment and return to the entrance of the Queen’s Tower.

8. Walk west and take the first left into the alley beside the hotel. In the far corner of the alley, behind the military bot, is an unlocked gate. There’s a camera by it. Go through the gate and climb the ladder. At the top you’ll find a crude elevator with a keypad on the floor. Use a multitool on the keypad and ride the elevator up. You get 50 exploration points for doing this. You can walk out on the roof, but there’s not much to see. There’s a keypad that takes three multitools to bypass. It opens a door that leads downstairs through some laser triggers. It’s a back door to the break room that was full of guards by the lab containing the Dragon’s Tooth Sword.

9. On the yellow and black striped railing right of the elevator controls is a multitool. So your investment in multitools is paid back and you have 50 more skill points. Push the button and ride the elevator down. Return to the front of the hotel and continue east.

10. Go to the Lucky Money entrance by the news vendor.

 

VERSALIFE

ROM Download

1. Go down one flight of stairs and find the entrance to Versalife. Use the code, 06288, that Tracer gave you. Take the elevator up.

2. Go talk to the receptionist and find out that Hundley is upstairs making rounds. He’s wearing a black suit.

3. Hack the PC by the receptionist and create yourself a temporary security pass. Make sure you notice that it says "code# 6512 issued". That’s the keypad code you need for the elevator to the labs. Now you don’t need Hundley to get in the labs. He’ll ask for 2000 credits to do it.

4. The stairs are in the north end of the room. At the foot of the stairs is the door to the security office. Look through the window and you’ll see three guards inside. Place a gas grenade on the left side of the doorframe. Use a multitool on the keypad to open the door.

5. Walk back to the receptionist’s area. Go stand behind the guard by the windows. Get the pistol ready. Don’t show any weapons until you’re ready to shoot else everybody will be alerted and you’ll lose your advantage. Shoot the guard in the head. Run up to the receptionist and shoot her before she gets up and gets her weapon out. Now go to the railing and take care of the guard that’s down by the elevator where you entered. By this time the gas has gone off in the security room. Turn on your Environment Resistance aug and go in the security room and take care of the three guards. Walk out and find a gas free area and turn off the augmentation. Wait for the gas to clear.

6. Search the bodies and go into security. In the center of the north wall are three security terminals. Hack them all and turn all cameras off. Search the control room. You can find a bioelectric cell, two interesting datacubes, some 10mm ammo and a weapons mod (clip). Apply the mod to the normal pistol.

7. There are no goodies to be found by searching the work areas and since we don’t need Hundley now, just go up the stairs to level 3. If you run into Hundley you can talk to him just to see what he says.

8. Go into the work area in level three. You will see one worker at a cubicle. Beside him is the hallway to the elevator. Go to the elevator and use 6512 on the keypad. Get in the elevator and go down.

9. Exit the elevator and listen to the guy who meets you. Stroll back the long hallway toward the sculpture of a huge hand grasping at the world. How appropriate for MJ12! Also notice the two patrolling guards and the heavy weaponry they have.

10. Pass the statue on the left side and take the corridor north. As you walk over the transparent floor you can see down into the labs. Take the elevator up to a lounge where an MIB patrols.

11. Read the datacube on the table then take the nanokey to the augmentation chamber (it’s packed with augs we’ll take later). Hack the security terminal on the desk – all cameras off, doors unlocked and open.

12 Walk to the large window and look down at the sculpture. You can see an opening in front of it that wasn’t there when you came in. It’s the entrance to the labs.

13. Go back down to the sculpture level and go up the stairs on the opposite side of the sculpture. On the immediate left at the top is an armory stuffed with goodies. There are three guards inside and one patrolling outside.

14. Across from the armory is a meeting room with some people in conference. There’s a locked cabinet in that room also.

15. Find the break room. There’s a fifth guard in there plus to scientists talking. Read the datacube on the table. You can destroy the UC, whatever that is, with the code 525.

16. Stand in the vestibule between the armory and the conference room. Face the armory. When the patrolling guard goes into the armory, run up and place a gas grenade on the right side of the door and step back.

17. When the guard comes out and sets the gas off, switch on the Environmental Resistance aug (F9). Shoot the four guards in and around the armory then run into the break room and get the guard in there. Sometimes the gas will get into the break room and incapacitate him, too, but don’t count on it.

18. Go in the conference room and use two lock picks on the cabinet. It contains a bioelectric cell, tech goggles and two data cubes. The code to the magnetic testing chamber is 5878. For the weapons research team the master password is damocles.

19. Go into the armory and use two lockpicks on the cabinet in there. It holds a crossbow, flare darts, a plasma clip and a datacube. Security login and passwords are: MJ12 and security. On the lower shelf has 10mm ammo. On the top in the corner is ballistic armor (ignore).

20. Go in the restroom and find the vent that leads into the ducts. Go in and follow the vents upward. When you get to the top you get 50 skill points. If you hang around you will notice a loose greasel at the far end of the duct. He’s coming your way but you don’t have to deal with him. There’s nothing past him you need to do. So, just turn and go back down the ducts to the restroom.

21. Return to the lower level and descend the stairs at the front of the sculpture. Go either left or right and you’ll come out on a balcony overlooking a strange device. That’s where the ROM encoding is. However, we have other things to do first.

22. Notice the brightly-lit door labeled "Level 2 Access". Take either stairway down to the strange device. Find the corridor in the west wall and walk down it.

23. Guards and WIB’s carrying swords patrol the place. The first room on the left is an armory. It has three guards downstairs and one upstairs. There’s also a fifth that hangs out in the locker room. The patrolling one outside makes six and that’s just in the immediate area. Too many for now.

24. Continue down the corridor and through some sliding doors. Once through look left. You can see Maggie Chow and Bob Page through a window. Walk to the window and listen to their conversation. There’s only one way down into the labs and when the conversation is finished, find the stairs and go down.

25. Walk straight east from the bottom of the stairs. Left of the table with the animal carcass is a datacube. So, they have a super freighter loaded with virus heading for New York. I’ll bet we get involved in that.

26. Get a lockpick from the next set of shelves on the left. On top of the cabinet where the scientist and lab assistant are talking is a hazmat suit.

27. Walk back to the stairs and turn right. Take the second left and enter a section of lab that has two cells, one holding greasels and the other holding a crazy guy. On the north side is a slab with a dead alien on it. Beside the body is a nanokey for the experimental subject cells. There’s also a med bot nearby.

28. If you walk down the corridor behind the slab and open the door you find there (highly radioactive environment), all you will discover are two aliens that will kill you very quickly.

29. Use the nanokey you just found and release the crazy guy then the greasels. Stand back and watch the fun. Sometimes they can rack up a pretty good body count before the guards kill them all.

30. Enter the room at the far west end and you’ll see the magnetic testing chamber. On the south side of the room is a PC. Hack it and turn off the radiation in the chamber and drop the protective fields around the augmentations. There are three augmentations in there. If your inventory is full, you can temporarily drop some items outside the chamber if you need.

31. Go inside and get the three augs and the bioelectric cell. On the north side of the room is a med bot. Use it to install the augs. Install Cloak and Vision Enhancement. You already have the third augmentation so drop it from inventory. You also should have an unused augmentation canister. Use it to upgrade Cloak to level 2. If you dropped items to clear your inventory, recover them now.

32. Ok, time to do what we came to do and get out. Go up to the walkways over the lab and down the corridor past the armory. When you get to the chamber with the strange machine, take the stairs up to the top. Find the guard patrolling the walkway around the perimeter and take him out with the prod.

33. Go back down to the machine. Go inside and push the button. When the elevator stops there’s a PC directly in front of you. Hack it and click on the "Download ROM" choice and log off.

34. Get back on the elevator and go down. Run for the stairs and go up. Head for the opening under the sculpture. Alarms will be going off. When you come out under the statue, activate the Cloaking aug, and run for the elevator at the far end. When you get on the elevator hit the button to go up, don’t forget to turn off the augmentation.

35. Find your way back down to the reception area and use the elevator to get back to the mall.

36. Find the compound wall by the news vendor and follow it south. At the next corner turn left and go into the Joss Temple. Find your way downstairs and walk up to Max Chen and trigger a dialogue. You’re invited for drinks later.

37. Go back to Tracer Tong

The UC

1. Tracer now wants JC to go back to Versalife, this time into the Level 2 labs, to find information about the structure of the plague virus. He tells you of a back door from the Canal Road and gives you a keycode, 55655, for entry into the back door. He also tells you of a scientist killed in a cave in you might explore. We’ve already done that.

2. Go to med lab and use the robot to restore your health. You can go down to communications and see Alex but he’s got nothing new to add. The storage cabinet down there has not been restocked.

3. Go to the room with the firing range. Nothing new there either. Man, these guys are stingy with equipment! Go down to the next level and use the repair bot to recharge bio energy.

4. Leave the compound and turn left. Find the entrance to Canal Road and go down. Head north down the road to the accident scene. Use Tracer’s code, 55655, on the keypad behind the black van.

5. Walk under the pipes and stand on the small box. Use a pick on the grate, open it and jump through into the water below.

6. Swim to the south end of the room where you can climb out on a pipe at water level. Now just simply turn right and walk around the pipes clockwise until you reach the large pipe and can climb inside. Exit this pipe ad immediately turn around. You can see a datacube on the floor. It gives you a door seal code of 768. Continue east.

7. Daedalus contacts you with another goal; destroy the Universal Constructor, UC by using the code 525.

8. Close to the end of the pipe, turn right, crawl into a small passageway and follow it to a chamber.

9. On the wall of this chamber you can find a keypad. Use the code you just found, 768. It opens a series of doors around the corner. Go through the doors and get the scramble grenade from a lighted niche in the wall just before the last door.

10. Go to the end of the corridor and push the button to lower the ramp. Go down the ramp. Turn around and look behind you. Through the glass floor of the ramp you can see another ramp that leads down into a different area. There is a commando patrolling down there. There’s also a laser fence. At the far end of the room is a scientist, back to you, at a computer, the very computer we need to get to.

11. Go back up the ramp, turn around and face back down. Push the button and run off the end of the ramp before it raises. Once on the floor immediately go left or right to get out of sight.

12. Crouch and creep to the lip of the ramp. If the commando isn’t in sight wait until he comes back. When he finishes patrolling and turns his back, creep down the stairs and turn right. Hack the panel with 4 multitools to lower the fence then scoot to the other side of the room and get out of sight.

13. Stay crouched and wait for the command to come around again. When he walks away again creep down the corridor behind him. When he turns, you go straight ahead and zap the scientist at the computer with the prod. Immediately turn right and go into the small room out of sight.

14. Stay back away from the door or the commando can see you during his walk by. Get a LAM ready and creep to the door and peek out. Wait until the commando comes back and starts walking down towards the bots. Creep out the door and plant a LAM on the west wall just inside the corridor left of the room. Go back into the room and wait for the blast.

15. Hack into the security panel in the small room and click both options offered. Go outside and hack the PC where the scientist was. Click both options. The items inside he locked cabinet aren’t worth the picks. Let it go.

16. This completes Tracer’s goal. Now you have to destroy the UC.

17. Go down the corridor where you planted the LAM, find the ladder and go down. Follow the grating around and enter the building. Grab the 3 augs and the upgrade canister. The only aug you can use is the Power Recirculator/Synthetic heart. You already have the rest, so just drop them. This is the only chance in the game for this particular aug so take it.

18. Exit the building through the north opening and climb down the ladder. Get off the ladder and go left towards the pedestal you can see in the distance. Before you get to the pedestal you meet up with Maggie Chow. When she gets done talking shoot her quickly before she gets a chance to use her dragon sword.

19. Go back to the ladder and you’ll notice a med bot. Very handy! Install the Power Recirculator and upgrade it to level 2.

20. Go back to the pedestal and use the code Daedalus gave you, 525. When you do everything breaks loose. Immediately jump over the railing to the right of the pedestal and land on the structure below.

21. Find the ladder on the central structure and climb down, but not all the way. After a short distance you will come level with some tanks. Jump off the ladder to the left and land on the edge of the tank. Look west and you’ll see a smaller tank near the wall. It has a short ladder on it.

22. The water on the floor below you is toxic. Make sure you have the crossbow set up with regular darts. You’ll soon be dealing with a monster underwater. Toggle the Environmental Resistance on, jump from the tank, wade through the toxic crap and climb the ladder on the short tank. Turn off the aug.

23. Get the crossbow ready and jump into the water. Swim down the pipe. You will come to an opening. At the bottom of the opening are tranquilizer and regular darts. Ignore them for now and turn left into the other pipe. Take a bead on the monster and keep firing darts until it dies. Immediately turn around and swim back to the opening and up the pipe to the tank. Get some air then go back and get the darts. Go back for air then go back and swim through the pipe where you shot the monster.

24. Halfway down this pipe is a place where you can come up for air. When you reach the end you’ll be sucked automatically to the surface.

25. Climb out on the ledge and follow it to an opening you have to crouch to get through. There you can pick up a multitool and a nanokey for the Nanotech Containment Lockdown door.

26. Continue your journey and you find yourself at the end of a pipe looking down at the canal. Jump in the water and swim south a ways and climb up on a dock where a small boat is tied. Follow the walkway to a ladder and climb. Jump off the ladder and you find you’re near the Tonnochi Road entrance.

27. Head south to the little covered bridge, cross the canal and continue back north. Turn right at the next Tonnochi Road sign and go to the Lucky Money. You were invited for drinks, remember?

28. Enter the club and go upstairs to the bar. Talk to Max and Gordon and they give you a bottle of wine. This completes your secondary goal.

29. Report back to Tracer Tong in the compound.

30. You find Paul in Tracer’s office. Talk to him then find Tracer. He tells you to find a guy named Stanton Dowd in New York.

31. Go down to med lab and restore your health, then to the lab next to the firing range to restore bio health.

32. Go to the center of the compound, get on Jock’s chopper and head to New York.
