LARGE OFFICE BUILDING

1. You can either use three multitools on the elevator keypad or use two lockpicks on the door of the construction shack on the roof. Inside the shack you can find the code for the elevator. We’ll use the three multitools to bypass the elevator keypad and go down.

2. Go up the stairs in front of the elevator and find the distraught woman in the room at the end of the hall. After talking to the woman she gives you a keycode of 0001 and you have a secondary goal: kill the four greasels in the sewers and inform the woman. Your two primary goals are to: contact the Illuminati in Paris and contact Silhouette in the Paris catacomb

3. Go to the boxes stacked next to the cabinet. Pick up the small metal crate and put it on the floor. Use it to climb up on the first large crate. Turn around, crouch and pick up the small crate again. Place in at your feet on top of the first large crate then climb to the top of the next large crate. You should now be able to get a bioelectric cell from the top of the cabinet.

4. Climb up on the beam angling up and to the left that’s in front of you. Follow it up to where it intersects the opposite wall. There’s a small ledge you can climb into by staying crouched, and hitting he spacebar and the forward arrow key.

5. Turn left and follow the narrow ledge to a larger one. The three crates contain a scramble grenade, a medkit and a lockpick. The book on the floor is a few paragraphs from the G.K. Chesterton novel "The Man Who Was Thursday". It’s really a pretty good book and since the copyright has expired, it’s in the public domain. Go back to the floor below.

6. Go back down the stairs to the elevator and turn left. Find the next set of stairs and go down. Go all the way to the bottom, turn right and you can find three flares.

7. Go north into a room labeled "Restricted Area". Take the hazmat suit from the rack on the right. There is a crate at the opposite end that contains a fire extinguisher.

8. Go up the ramp leaving the restricted area and take the next right down another ramp to some garage-like doors with a keypad on the right hand side.

9. The room behind the doors has very intense radiation. You should use the hazmat suit as well as the Environmental Resistance aug (F-9) and the Power Recirculator (F-11). There are two crates inside you should pause to break open (on your right as you go through). They contain a medkit and a multitool. The exit is in the NW corner of the room.

10. Open the door with the code the woman gave you, 0001. Don the hazmat suit, turn on your augs and get the crowbar ready. Run into the room, go right and smash the crates, then continue to the exit. When you get into the small room with the repair bot you’re safe from radiation. Use the bot to recharge your bioenergy.

11. Descend the ladder into the tunnels. They’re just a simple square maze of corridors. You can soften up the greasels from long range with the crossbow and regular darts then finish them of with the pistol. While you’re down there you can find a crate that has a lockpick. There’s also another lockpick hanging out of the entrance of a small shaft in the wall of one of the corridors. It’s slightly above eye level. There is an exit on the west side near where the crate is found. When you near the ladder Tracer tells you it’s a way out. However, don’t take it yet. You still have to go back and tell you woman you killed the four greasels to get credit for the goal.

12. Going back to the woman means going through the radioactive room again. Make sure you use the Environmental Resistance (F-9) and just run through the room. You shouldn’t take too much damage.

13. After talking to the woman find the construction elevator you came down in from the roof. Find the building elevator shaft near it. Momentarily use the Speed Enhancement Aug (F-7) and jump down the shaft to the ledge at the next level where you can see a crate. Get a hazmat suit from the crate.

14. On the level with the hazmat suit is a beam you can crouch and walk down to the last level. You are now in the doorway of the room full of radiation. Use the hazmat suit to get across in addition to F-9 and F-11. Don’t forget to turn the augs off. Use the repair bot to recharge bio energy.

15. Go back down the ladder to the tunnels and find the exit on the west side of the maze. Above are two or three MJ12 commandos. We aren’t equipped to handle them from this uncompromising position, so we run. Open the hatch, checkout the area and if it’s clear crawl out and head west into the subway station.

 

SUBWAY

1. Turn to the left and talk to the guy sitting in a chair. His name is Defoe and he’s an arms dealer. He’ll lower prices if you take care of the soldiers next to the mall.

2. Head west from the arms dealer to the entrance of the mall. Turn right into the doorway then left behind a crate. Peek out to the right and locate or wait for the bot to come by. When you’ve located the bot use the Spy Drone (F-5). Fly the drone down the hallway directly into the bot. Just before impact, click the left mouse button and the drone will explode. The EMP should taker care of he bot.

3. If the soldiers are alerted you can get them both with the pistol when they investigate. If they aren’t alerted, creep around the corner to the right and go east toward the room with two large glass windows. The soldiers are probably around the next corner to the left standing on either side of the door to the room.

4. At the north end of the room the soldiers were guarding is a med bot. At the other end of the room on the left hand wall is a security terminal. Hack it and turn the camera off and set the turret to "enemies". Open the crate on the other side of the room and get a multitool.

5. Leave this room and turn left. Go to the other end of the hall and turn right into a room with three crates. The crates contain 10mm ammo, regular darts and a bioelectric cell.

6. Exit this room and angle right to the end of the next hallway from where you launched the spy drone. The two crates there contain 7.62 ammo and 30-06 ammo. Exit into the next room and notice the two ATM machines on the west wall. Don’t hack them yet.

7. Go back to the arms dealer and buy a weapons mod (recoil) and install it on the regular pistol.

 

SMALL OFFICE BUILDING

1. Dodge the commandos and go to the two-story building next door, left, to the subway. It takes two lockpicks to get inside.

2. Ascend the stairs and go into the office at the top. Behind the houseplant on the bottom shelf of the bookcase you can find a bioelectric cell. Use a pick to unlock the cabinet and get a 300-credit chit, a warehouse key, a multitool, and a datacube that holds the login and password for the security system; rzelazny/shadowjack.

3. On the wall around the corner from the cabinet is a security terminal. Use the newfound codes and login. Switch all cameras to "off" and unlock and open all doors. Be sure to change the turret to "enemies."

4. Go back down the stairs and turn left. Break the window of the office on the corner, at the top of the stairs leading down, and enter the office. Soon as you do, an alarm will go off and a commando will come in from outside. You can either wait him out or try to shoot him. I suggest you shoot him. Two quick shots to the head with the regular pistol should do it.

5. Under the desk in the room is a datacube that contains a login and PIN# 2221969, dullbill. When the phone on the desk rings, click on it. There’s a strange message for JC.

6. Leave the office and go down to the basement. The door should be open if you accessed the security panel upstairs. In the room is a repair bot, a nanokey for the office we were just in and three creates. The crates contain and EMP grenade, a LAW (ignore) and a bioelectric cell.

7. Sneak from the building and go left back into the subway. Find the ATM machines. Use the account information you just found to get 200 credits. Neither of the machines give up anything by hacking.

 

CATACOMBS

Silhouette Bunker

1. If you shot the commando when he came into the small office building there are two commandos left in the square in front of the subway. Stay to the left, creep up the stairs from the subway and poke your head just above the top of the steps. With the regular pistol and scope you can take out the nearer commando with two quick shots to the head while he is momentarily standing still at the edges of his patrol route. The second will appear from an alley on the extreme left, turn and walk past the front of the building on the east side of the square. He doesn’t stop so you will have to get him as he is distant and walking toward you.

2. Now you have the freedom to open the storage crate in the middle of the square. It contains tech goggles (ignore).

3. Cross the square to the building on the east. On the left end is a large door with a sign over it, "Entrée des Catacombs". Use the nanokey and open it.

4. Inside the little office at the entrance you can find a flare on the floor and a datacube with miscellaneous information on it. If you follow the hallway on the opposite side of the circular stairs you can find two more flares on the floor.

5. Take the stairs down into the catacombs. At the bottom turn right. At the first intersection turn right again. As you round the corner you should be able to see a gas grenade on the north wall of the entrance to a corridor leading off to the right. Disarm it so it goes into your inventory.

6. This hallway is circular and if you continue to the right (don’t’ take the corridor where the grenades was yet) you’ll find an opening near the floor on the right-hand side. Climb inside and take the ladder down. You might want to pop a flare here. At the bottom you find a lockpick on the floor and a crate containing a napalm canister.

7. In the east wall of this hole the tunnel continues. Follow it to where it opens into a room. There are two guards inside, one with a flamethrower. Snipe the guard with his back to you and then retire back into the tunnel until his partner gives up the search for you. He’s the one with the flamethrower.

8. Go back to the room and sneak to the right around a column. You should be able to get the drop on the remaining guard and shoot him while crouched. The crate in the room contains buckshot.

9. Leave the room by walking up the ramp to the corridor. Turn left. Follow the corridor until it turns right. At this point you may see a patrolling guard. There’s also a commando.

10. It’s difficult to say where the troopers will be. After you make the right turn and head south, the corridor comes to a round room with a round column in the middle. There is an exit from the round room on the east (left) side. The next room contains six square pillars. You will encounter the two guards either in the corridor leading to the round room, the round room or the room with the square pillars.

11. A short corridor leads from the east side of the room with square pillars. At the end of the corridor you can find, in a niche in the wall, a lockpick on a brick. Get the lockpick and click on the brick to open the door to the Silhouette Bunker.

12. The bunker complex is round. Walk the perimeter until you find a doorway leading into the center. Find and talk to Chad, the leader. JC agrees to rescue some Silhouette prisoners if Chad will put him in touch with Nicolette. Chad gives JC a blast door key. The only thing of interest in the bunker interior is a med kit behind a wicker basket on top of a locked cabinet in the west room. Don’t bother with the cabinet. It contains another blast door key. There are also two flares on the floor of this room.

Hostage Rescue

1. Exit the bunker and go straight across the corridor to another door. There’s a flare on the floor in front of it. Use the nanokey to open the blast door.

2. A commando patrols inside. Inside the door turn right and follow the corridor around two left turns and into a room. Somewhere along here you can probably sneak up behind the commando and take care of him.

3. Inside the room on the south wall is a locked box. It contains the login and password of the security system; hela, ragnarok. Don’t waste the lockpicks, we’ll use our hacking skills.

4. Exit the room to the north. You will soon come to a corridor on the right. On a ledge by the fire barrel is a flare. Turn right and go into a bunker laid out like the one Silhouette has. Inside you’ll find a junkie. If your inventory isn’t maxed out with tranquilizer darts, buy some for 200 credits. Search the floors inside the bunker and you can find two vials of Zyme. Take them. We can convert them to credits later.

5. Leave the bunker and go right (north). At the next intersection take the short corridor to the right and get a flare. Turn around and continue west. Ignore for now the first corridor on the left and continue straight.

6. Soon you will see some storage crates up ahead on the left. Right of the crates is a LAM trap on the wall. Deactivate the LAM and open the crates to get 10mm and 30-06 ammo.

7. Retrace your steps south to the corridor you ignored a few minutes ago. Turn right into it. At the next intersection go left. Follow the corridor to a ramp going down to the left. This is the entrance to the MJ12 area.

8. Creep to the bottom of the ramp. You could possibly meet two guards at the bottom. Take care of them with the regular pistol. At the bottom go right to the next intersection. Right is a laser fence with the electrical panel very close to it. Past the fence is a camera and a turret. Go left down a ramp into a room with a ladder. Climb the ladder.

9. At the top you will discover a caged room with a repair bot inside. Left of the cage is a corridor with storage crates at the end. Between you and the storage crates is a malfunctioning machine that’s blocking the path with electrical arcs.

10. To save lockpicks, stand on the ladder and toss a LAM toward the cage around the bot then duck down the ladder, a long ways. When the grenade goes off it explodes some barrels of toxic as well as blowing the fence open. Watch the opening above the ladder to see when the toxic gas clears. You should also notice that after a few seconds you can’t hear arcing either. The repair bot has come out and fixed the malfunctioning machine.

11. Climb the ladder and head for the storage crates. Inside the crates are tech goggles (ignore) and a multitool. There’s also a napalm canister on the floor.

12. Descend the ladder, turn right and go back to the room at the bottom of the ramp. Continue east into another room with two storage crates. The crates contain two lockpicks and there’s also some flare darts on the floor.

13. Go back to the previous room, turn left and go up the stairs. Just before the top, stop and climb up onto the ledge to the left. Follow it around to the room where you just found the lockpicks. At the far end you can find a datacube with the security codes; hela, ragnarok, and some 10mm ammo.

14. Return to the stairs and continue the ascent. At the top there’s a locked box that takes two picks. Open it and get darts and flare darts.

15. Return to the bottom of the stairs and turn left. Go to the intersection and notice the cross in the alcove. Behind the cross is a tunnel. Climb into the tunnel and turn right. You’ll be in a small gallery between the hallway where the laser fence is on the right and the perimeter of the MJ12 bunker on the left.

16. This next sequence is very difficult. Inside the perimeter are five guards, three regular and two commandos. On the opposite side of the perimeter near the bunker entrance is an alarm switch, a camera and turret. On this side of the perimeter are one guard and the commando. A commando walks a post back and forth in front of the slit you look through into the perimeter.

17. Hug the left wall and approach the slit until you have a very narrow view into the room. Use the stealth pistol with scope to snipe the commando when he walks through.

18. Walk past the slit and turn around. Peer SW through the slit and you should see a standing guard near the left end of the perimeter. Snipe him with the stealth pistol.

19. If you are maxed on bioelectric cells, drop one from inventory. You have to pick up the dead commando outside and move him. His body contains a bioelectric cell and if your inventory is maxed out you can’t pick up the cell, therefore you can’t pick up the body either. Creep from your hiding place and get the bioelectric cell from the commando’s body, then pick up the body and carry him up the ramp to the blast door. Dump him near the top.

20. Leave the doorway and turn left. Go around the corner to where the dead guard is that you sniped from the slit. Place two LAM’s against the center wall where his feet are pointing. It takes two to make a for sure kill on the commando that will come soon. Now go back to near the doorway and wait against the center wall, back to the direction of the LAM’s, until you hear the LAM’s go off. Run around the corner to the left and you’ll soon see an exit to the right. Near the doorway is a turret and an alarm button. In the center of the floor is one of those funny-shaped pillars. On the opposite side is another camera pointing down the corridor away from you. Do not pass the pillar and do not get to the right of it. At this point you should see two guards running down the hall to check out the explosion. Let them get almost all the way there then start shooting with the regular pistol. As soon as you fire, one of them will run for the alarm on your right. To keep the alarm from going off you must shoot this guard first, then take care of the second.

21. Go back to the locked box that sits in front of the slit where you hid earlier. Use two picks to open it up and get a multitool, weapons mod (reload) and some rockets. Apply the reload mod to the shotgun. Return around the corner to where you just shot the two guards.

22. Inside the room past the alarm, camera and turret, are two more commandos and a WIB; very tough opponents. Go to the column by the door and crouch. Look up and watch the camera on the column. When it’s moving away from you, look through the door to the room on the right. If it’s clear, creep to the door, around the corner to the right and climb the ladder.

23. At the top move away from the ladder so you can’t be seen from below and crouch. Face west down the balcony and get the regular pistol ready. Soon a patrolling commando will come toward you. You can snipe him with two quick shots from the scoped pistol before he gets close enough to see you.

24. There is a crate near the west end of the balcony on the right. It contains a bioelectric cell. Continue west to the end of the balcony and turn left. Go all the way to the wall, notice the stairs leading down. On the left just before you get to the stairs is a crate. Inside are regular darts.

25. Go to the stairway but stay to the left and walk along the ledge. Look down below. With patience you should be able to snipe the second commando. At the end of the ledge face left. Notice that your position puts you behind anyone coming up the stairs. Peer over the railing and you will also see a series of arches. You can see the WIB when she gets to the end of her patrol route by looking through those arches. It’s a long, long wait. When she stops momentarily take a shot at her head. You probably won’t kill her with one shot. She’ll run out of the room, trip the alarm and come up the stairs after you. Soon as you see her on the stairs start firing. If you get tired of waiting, go back to the other balcony and all the way to the end near the ladder you climbed up.

26. Crouch and sidestep toward the ladder and look south or SW to the end of the room. You should be able to see the WIB somewhere. When you see her let her get all the way to the east end where she pauses. When she pauses shoot at her. You probably won’t kill her with one shot. She’ll run through the door and hit the alarm then come up the stairs to get you. Now you’re in the same spot as you were with the first commando. Start firing as soon as she comes in view. A couple head shots should do it.

27. The area should be clear now. Go downstairs, turn left and go to the west end of the room. You might be spotted by a camera but there’s no one left to answer the alarm. On the west wall find a security terminal and hack in. Turn all cameras "off" and set all turrets to "enemy".

28. The table on the north wall holds two prod chargers, a catacomb sewer entry nanokey and a datacube that tells you MJ12 is expecting JC in Paris. Ignore the sniper rifle.

29. The crate left of the security panel contains a multitool. There’s a second crate south of the first on the other side of the stack of metal boxes. There’s also a set of tech goggles on top of the metal boxes. Ignore them.

30. Now it’s time to release the hostages. Exit the room and go straight across the corridor to the blast door. Open the door with a nanokey and the hostages fly like loosed pigeons. Be quick and follow them back to the Silhouette bunker. Talk to Chad and he tells you that you can probably find Nicolette at the Club La Port de l’Enfer, the Gate of Hell club. However, the roads are blocked and JC must go through the sewers to get there.

31. Now to find the sewer exit. Leave the bunker and head straight north to the wall. Turn right and follow the corridor around two left turns into a room with an odd shaped column in the center.

32. Exit this room to the north and follow the corridor to an intersection where you can turn left. At the next intersection, a few feet from where you just turned, go left and follow the corridor until you come to a blast door by a fire barrel. Tracer will identify it for you as the sewer exit. Use the nanokey you found earlier to open it. Maker sure you’re finished in this area because once you go through the door you can’t return. Step through the door.

33. Follow the corridor until you come to a small landing with a ramp going down to the left. Ahead is a small room with a pool. Get a lockpick from the pool.

34. Take the ramp down and follow the corridor to a hole in the floor with a ladder. Descend the ladder.

 

CHAMPS-ELYSEES

The Neighborhood

1. Continue following the corridor to an intersection. Go right (west) and continue to the first intersection on the right. Go up the short corridor and open the two crates. They contain a crowbar and a lockpick. Go back to the main corridor and continue right. This corridor leads to a ladder. The lid at the top of the ladder is locked.

2. Instead of using the two picks required to get out, retrace your steps to the intersection at the beginning of step 1 and go straight through to another ladder with a crate at it’s foot. The crate contains a fire extinguisher (ignore). At this point you should have enough skill points to upgrade lockpicking skills to Advanced. Do it. Climb the ladder. It’s going to seem like half of MJ12 is waiting above for you, military bots, too.

3. The immediate problem is getting rid of the damn dog. Get the stealth pistol ready and climb the ladder. Open the lid when you’re as far away from it as you can. Climb up a little at a time until your head is barely above ground level. The dog will attack from the north. Be ready and blast it. Scoot back down the ladder and out of sight.

4. Creep back up the ladder. Next there is a guard with a flamethrower and one with a crossbow. Go back up the ladder just above ground level. To the right (west) a military bot patrols up the sewer and away. Make sure it’s not coming toward you. Left (east) are two metal containers. Just to the right of the right container, your sights will turn red. That’s about the only way you can tell anything is there. Find the highest point of the target area where the sight stays red and fire. You should be rewarded with the sound of a falling body. Immediately descend the ladder into the sewer and watch the opening above. Sometimes a guard will come and stand over the hole and make a perfect target of himself. Sometimes they fall into the hole on top of you. Wait for the alarm to shut off.

5. When it’s quiet go back up the ladder, check for the bot, then look north and NW. You can probably catch a guard on the ground in plain sight. Take care of him them pop back down into the sewer. You may have enough time to get this guy with the scope before the bot sees you.

6. Go back up the ladder, check the position of the bot, then climb out. Go east past the containers then turn left. There may be one guard standing against the wall of the building. Once you get this guard sneak into the building to the north and hack into the PC. Disable the military bots. On the desk you can find a bioelectric cell. The crate under the desk contains a LAM.

7. East of the little building at the end of the area are three more guards, one regular, two commandos. Sneak around the side of the building and snipe each one with the scoped stealth pistol. You should be able to get all three without any trouble by retreating back into the building between shots.

8. Head south down the street past the round blue thingy with advertisements on it. Go all the way to the end of the street to a building identified as #10 by a sign next to the door. Tracer identifies it as a Hostel.

9. Go inside. The PC and the guy behind the desk are both empty. Follow the room around to a bar. Talk to the guy, Renault, in the white suit. He wants you to steal some Zyme from the Baker in #15. The Zyme is kept in the oven at the bakery. Answer that you don’t deal in Zyme and he’ll up the price. After that accept or both guys will draw on you. Talk to the other guy and the bartender.

10. Head back toward the desk and find the stairs on the left. Go up the stairs and head south to a balcony overlooking the bar. On a cart you can find a hotel nanokey.

11. Go back down the hall to the first door on the left. Unlock it with the nanokey and go inside. Go upstairs to the table by the bed. There’s a bioelectric cell, a 100-credit chit and a datacube with the stolen account and PIN from a tourist; 004418, morbus13.

12. Exit the hostel through the door in the east wall of the lobby and turn right. Follow the alley to another alley on the right. It goes behind the bakery. Find the bakery’s rear door. Wait there until a cop goes by then zap him with the prod. Use two picks to unlock the door and creep in.

13. Turn left. The thing on the wall that looks like a grate is the oven. It’s unlocked. Open it and get some 10mm ammo. Climb inside and get a plasma clip, a PS20, a 100-credit chit and six vials of Zyme.

14. Exit the oven and creep to the front of the store. Open the crate and get a lockpick. Exit back into the alley, go back to the Hostel and sell the Zyme to Renault.

15. Leave the Hostel and take the alley beside the building and head back toward the bakery. Take the smaller alley on the right and go behind the bakery to the bakery’s rear door. Creep to the end of the alley and survey the street.

16. West and left is a subway entrance. Right of the subway is a café, the Enfant Terrible. Between the café and the subway is an alley. A guard will patrol down the alley toward the street. Use the stealth pistol with scope to take him out at long distance.

17. There should be another guard that patrols the street in front of the café. Take out this guard the same way. Retreat through the alley to the wall and turn right. Creep along the side of the bakery. Ahead is a commando with his back to you. Creep close enough to the commando so that you can see another guard who patrols off to the commando’s right. Take out the commando with the scope and two quick head shots then switch off the scope and take care of the other guard when he comes down the alley to get you.

18. Now the street in front of the bakery should be clear. Except that is, for the Paris cops. If they find the bodies they will become hostile to you. Instead of wasting ammunition taking out the cops check them out with the crosshairs before you get near them from now on; green is serene, red is dead.

19. Notice the awning over the front doors of the bakery. Go back to the Hostel. To the right of the main door, next to a street light, is a wooden skid with crates on it. One crate has a smaller crate, one you can pick up, on top of it. Set the smaller crate on the ground and push the larger crate all the way down the alley and under the edge of the awning over the bakery’s front door. Go back and pick up the smaller crate. Use it to climb the larger crate you placed under the awning. Once on the larger crate, crouch, pick up the smaller crate and place it at your feet. Climb the smaller crate and then up on the awning. You can, if needed, use the Speed Augmentation momentarily to get on the awning.

20. Turn right and go to the edge of the awning. Jump to the second, slightly higher awning. Walk down this awning to the ladder on the wall and ascend to the roof. Walk to near the NW corner and look down. You will see an awning below on the building next to the bakery. Run and jump down to the awning.

21. Use the crowbar and break one of the windows and crawl inside the arms dealer’s apartment. The crate near the window contains a plasma rifle (ignore). The table next to the bed has a datacube with bank account info; account# 005133, PIN# salem008. There are rockets on the floor between the bed and table.

22. Use two picks to get into the locked box on the opposite side of the bed. Inside are two plasma clips, two boxes of 30-06 ammo and two weapons mods (clip and laser). Apply the laser mod to the crossbow, the clip mod to the shotgun. The table on the wall opposite the bed has some throwing knives (ignore) and a 100-credit chit.

23. The table in the next room has throwing knives and an assault shotgun. Ignore both of these. Get the sabot rounds and the two weapons mods (range, accuracy). Apply the range mod to the stealth pistol and the accuracy mod to the crossbow.

24. Exit through the broken window and back to the awning. Crouch and drop to the street below. Now you better start checking out the Paris cops with the crosshairs before you get near them.

25. You have dropped down in front of a digital media store. Since we’re getting short of picks we’ll pass this opportunity up. Go back through the alleys to the main door of the Hostel. Zap the two guards outside the hostel and get 10mm ammo. Go inside and zap the guard in the lobby. Soon as you do the old man behind the desk tries to run out. Make sure you zap him. Now, just to be safe, pick up and dump all four bodies behind the reception desk.

26. Exit the main door and go left (west) to the large staircase going up the side of the building next door. Climb the stairs and use two picks to get inside. Turn left and go to a cabinet, then face right and you should see the stairs going up.

27. Search the upstairs. On the west end is a room containing a locked cabinet. Use a pick to get inside. There’s a medkit and a datacube with bank account info; 002639, aramis01. There are also two 100-credit chits.

28. On the floor to the right of the bed is a bioelectric cell. Go through the bathroom and the next room and find the door leading to the balcony. The two crates on the balcony contain a multitool and binoculars (ignore).

29. Go back to the previous room. Turn right and go to a table against the wall. On the table is a 100-credit chit and a pepper gun (ignore). That’s it. You can go back down stairs and listen to the couple in the kitchen talk. It’s kind of interesting but not necessary.

29. Leave the apartment and go back down to the front of the Hostel. Now for some insurance. Get the prod ready. And do the following at a run. Head north from the hostel past the staircase you were just on to the next alley and turn left. Run past the club entrance and the guy outside. When you hit the street look straight across. There is an alley and a cop should be coming down it toward you. Run across the street and zap him. Return to the street and look right and across the street. There should be another cop coming from the direction of the bakery. Run across the street and zap him. Lastly, find the lighted, recessed entryway in the building at the NE end of the street. There’s a cop standing in there. Zap him. Search his body and get some 10mm ammo and a weapons mod (reload). Apply the reload mod to the shotgun.

30. All this was done so that the cops wouldn’t find the bodies of the troops you sniped in the street. The discovery depends on where the troops were when you sniped them. In some cases zapping the cops might not be necessary but better safe than sorry. Plus, we got some ammo and goodies.

31. On the west side of the street, next to the subway entrance is a café. Go there and enter. Go up to the seating area and you find Jaime sitting at a table. While talking to him he tells you Gunther is after you and gives you Gunter’s killphrase, Laputan Machine.

32. If you talk to the couple at the next table the man will give you the codes to the MJ12 command post where you already hacked the security and turned off the military bots.

33. Find the kitchen. On a shelf on the west wall find a datacube that holds the chef’s To Do list. One of the items is the account info for his bank account; 001506, naga066.

34. We’ve now collected the info to empty three different bank accounts. All we need is an ATM machine.

35. Leave through the door in the kitchen and turn right. On the wall of the next building are two ATM’s. Also in the short section of street past the ATM’s is a security bot. This bot was not part of the hack you did earlier and is still active. There are also two cops.

35. Stay against the wall where the ATM’s are so you’re out of site of the bot. Use the info you’ve gathered to empty the three accounts. You get a total of 600 credits. Now hack the first ATM and get 150 more. The second ATM gives you nothing.

36. Now we’re ready to go to the club and find Nicolette.

The Club

1. Take the alley between the café and the ATM’s and go to the main street. Across the street and to the right is an entrance with red neon lights. That’s the club.

2. Enter the club, find the pay booth and pay the 300 credits to get in. You can afford it. Use the nanokey you get and enter the club.

3. Now, we have some people to find. At the go-go cage turn left and go to the far end of the room where two women are at a table. Talk to them. One admits Nicolette is in the club. In the section south of this one, is a guy selling bioelectric cells for 250 credits each.

4. Leave the bioelectric cell salesman and head west past the bar and into another room. Talk to the woman in this room. Her name is Cassandra and she’ll sell you the code to the business office for 200 credits. Buy them. The code is 1966.

5. Walk through the door behind the bar and turn left. Go to the keypad and use the code you just bought, 1966, to enter the room.

6. The crate near the door contains a medkit. Find on the left-hand shelves, bottom row: flare darts, tranquilizer darts, 7.62 ammo, 10mm ammo, buckshot and a 100-credit chit. The supply crate contains thermoptic camo (ignore). The next shelf holds a crowbar, 30-06 ammo and a prod charger.

7. Leave the room and follow the corridor to a room where the accountant is. You’ve already been in the arms dealer’s apartment, so don’t buy the location from the accountant. On the bookshelf by the houseplant is a PS20. We’re short of picks so ignore the locked closet and the panel behind the picture.

8. Go back to the bar, through the room and to the cage where the girl is dancing. Go up the stairs on the west wall. Talk to the young woman sitting at a table by herself. She will arrange for you to meet Nicolette behind the club.

9. Go back down the stairs and exit the club through the main entrance. Turn right and walk around the building through the alley to the rear. You’ll see Jock’s chopper and Nicolette is waiting near it. Talk to her then board the chopper. Just as you leave you see Gunther in the alley below the chopper. He’s getting closer.

 

CHATEAU DuCLARE

1. Go to the rear of the chateau and find the boarded-up door. Before you go inside explore the maze behind the chateau and find the small graveyard with steps leading down to a crypt. The graveyard is in the left rear corner. Finding the crypt now will save you some grief later because you’ll need to enter the crypt after searching the chateau. When you’re done, return to the rear door. Break the boards with the crowbar, open the door and go inside.

2. In the first room on the shelf to the left is a multitool. Go into the next room. We’ll call it the Main Room for want of any other description.

3. From the Main Room head right (south) through a doorway and up the stairs.

4. Once you gain the hallway upstairs, turn left then enter the first room on the right, the bathroom. In the first room you can find a medkit on a shelf. In the bath, on the left end of the sink find a nanokey to Nicolette’s bedroom. On the other end is a pepper gun (ignore).

5. Leave the bath and turn left. Follow the corridor to a locked door. Use the nanokey to open it. It’s Nicolette’s bedroom. On a dresser left of the door are some throwing knives (ignore). On the stand left of the bed is a lockpick. Right click on the skull on the mantle over the fireplace to open a secret stash. It contains thermoptic camo (ignore), a lockpick, a vial of Zyme (ignore), a plasma clip and a weapons mod (clip). Apply the weapons mod to the shotgun.

6. Exit Nicolette’s bedroom and follow the hall past the bath. On a table, behind a vase, find the nanokey to Beth’s bedroom. Keep following the corridor to the next room on the right. Use the nanokey to get in.

7. The shelf on the west wall has another key to Nicolette’s bedroom. On the table underneath the painting is a crossbow, flare and regular darts. Click on the painting to reveal a hidden stash. It contains a 100-credit chit, a datacube with Beth’s login and password; bduclare, nico_angel, a nanokey to the basement and a weapons mod (reload). Apply the reload mod to the regular pistol. The locked door that needs three picks is a sucker trap. It merely leads to the hallway.

8. Left of the bed is a dumbwaiter. Push the switch to bring it up, crawl in and push the switch to go down to the kitchen. In a few minutes Nicolette catches up with you. On a shelf next to the windows is a multitool.

9. Find the stairs and go down to the door. Use the nanokey to open it and enter. At the bottom of the ramp turn left. In the next room open the crate and get a lockpick. Continue to the next room.

10. On the east wall is a candelabra. Click on it to open a secret passage. In the first room at the bottom of the ramp open the crate and find some sabot rounds.

11. Go into the next room and find the boarded up stairway. Smash through the first set of barricades with the crowbar and proceed to the landing.

12. There are two crates in a small room. One contains a LAW (ignore) and the other a lockpick. Hack the security terminal there and turn the camera off, unlock and open the door to the nanotech containment chamber.

13. Smash the last set of barricades and make it to the computer room at the top of the stairs. There is a bioelectric cell on a cabinet against the west wall. A table on the north wall contains a multitool, a weapons mod (accuracy) and another bioelectric cell. Apply the weapons mod to the stealth pistol.

14. In a corridor behind the computer is a repair bot. Recharge your bio energy. From the shelf get flare darts, regular darts and two flares. In the far corner is an augmentation canister and an augmentation upgrade canister. All our slots are full so just take the upgrade. Upgrade the Speed Enhancement to Level 2.

15. Login to the computer using bduclare, nico_angel and transmit a message to Everett. Everett then contacts JC and tells him to go to a cathedral via the family crypt in the maze at the back of the chateau and that Nicolette has a key you need. Nicolette then gives JC the key.

16. Run back through the cellar and up into the kitchen, and MJ12 squad is coming. From the cellar stairs in the kitchen to straight into the dining room and turn left.

17. Go straight through the dining room and the next room into the Main Room. Turn right in the Main Room and exit through the back door of the chateau. Run into the maze slightly right of the chateau back door.

18. There are now commandos in the maze, naturally, one near the stairs to the crypt and one patrolling the entryway into the graveyard. If you’re careful you can creep around both of them and down the stairs of the crypt and into the sewers without being detected.

19. At the bottom of the stairs go left and follow the passage until the game drops you into the next level.

 

TEMPLAR CATHEDRAL

1. Follow the sewer to a ladder. Climb and open the lid at the top. Next to the ladder in the alley is a ledge with two metal crates on it. Take one crate and place it on the ground then climb the crate to the ledge, the ledge to the next crate. Break the window with your crowbar and enter the room. Get a 100-credit chit from the dead body. In the SW corner of the room is a 150-credit chit on the floor.

2. Walk up the beam to the second floor. Get a flare from the table by the opening. Cross the room and get another flare from the floor near a large cardboard box. Break open the crate and get a lockpick. Take the Gatekeeper’s nanokey from the shelf under the mirror.

3. Go to the window right of the mirror and look down and left into the alley. If no commando is present, break out the window with the crowbar. Get the stealth pistol ready and wait for a commando to come patrolling by. At the proper time you can use the scope and take out the commando with two quick shots to the head.

4. Return downstairs, climb through the window and back into the alley. Follow the alley to a gate and open it with a nanokey.

5. Follow the alley to the dead commando. In the street near his body is a post. Crouch behind the post. Beyond the post the street rises up to an intersection. Over the intersection is a bridge. On the bridge are a couple snipers. A military bot patrols below. Peek around the left edge of the post and watch the left end of the bridge. A careless sniper will walk there and stand still. Snipe him with the stealth pistol and scope. Immediately sidestep back behind the post so his two partners don’t get a shot at you.

6. When things calm down the partners probably have enough sense to not show themselves. Look up to the top of the hill and left into the lighted area. There should now be an open door in the wall because when you shot the sniper his partners came downstairs and investigated. Keeping the patrolling bot in mind, creep up the hill, hugging the left wall of the street, and through the open door. At the top of the stairs you should be able to get behind one guard at the entrance to the bridge and get him with a head shot. Immediately crouch and take out his partner on the bridge.

7. Cross the bridge to the opposite side. There’s a 100-credit chit on a ledge by some storage crates. The crates contain a lockpick and a multitool. There’s also a security panel on the south wall. Hack in and shutdown the patrolling military bot. Check the bodies of the guards. Two of them will probably have LAM’s.

8. Leave the bridge and go to the stairs. Stop on the first landing and back up against the wall and face the doorway below. Crouch and shoot out the glass in the window across from the door. Don’t go downstairs until the alarm shuts off or the turret will riddle you.

9. Creep along the right hand wall and into the window. Hack the security terminal and turn the camera off and set the turret to "enemies". Take the tranquilizer darts and flare darts. Leave the rest of the equipment.

10. Sneak NW up the street hugging the right wall. Near the intersection look slightly left and you will see a subway entrance. On the left side of the entrance is a commando. On the right side is a trooper. You can snipe the trooper with the stealth pistol and scope first, then swing your view left and watch for the commando. Two quick shots to the head should do it.

11. If you search the area by the subway entrance you’ll find a crate with armor inside. Ignore it.

12. Continue up the street. It soon begins to rise and just over the top and below is a bridge. You can creep carefully to the top and snipe the commando guarding the bridge.

13. Cross the bridge and keep hugging the left wall. Just before the top of the next rise stop. Soon a guard should come from your right and stop near a tree. When he stops take him out with the stealth pistol and scope.

14. Continue up the slope and creep toward the next area. Way off in the distance to the left should be a guard coming toward you. Snipe him. If one of the patrolling bots sees him fall it will come for you. Just turn and run back down the street across the bridge and stop just past the intersection. There you’re out of range. After the bot resumes its normal rounds return to the entrance of the cathedral area.

15. The grounds are packed with security bots. However, you should have taken care of all the human guards outside. Almost straight ahead is a large planter with trees in it. To the right of this planter is a door leading in to the cathedral. When the coast is clear creep across the area and get into the darkness between the planter and the wall.

16. Creep to the north end of the planter and turn right to face the courtyard. The bot will patrol back and forth in front of you. When it’s moving away from you, go right along the wall, make the next right and hide in the darkness in the corner.

17. Ahead is another bot. When it’s moving away make the next two right turns around the building. You should see a stack of boxes on the left. Creep into the stack by a storage crate. Here you’re out of view of bots coming from both directions. Turn west and face the cathedral wall. There you’ll see the trellis Tracer was talking about.

18. Neither of the two storage crates contains anything we will use so leave them intact for cover. When the bots are clear, creep across the way and climb the trellis quickly to the roof and get away from the edge or you might receive some lead in the backside from one of the bots.

19. Go to the end of one of the buttresses and walk up it to the roof. There are two skylights. Go to the east side of the east skylight and look down and right. You should see a bookstand against the wall. On the floor under the stand is a nanokey.

20. Crouch and break out the glass with the crowbar. Go to the lowest edge of the skylight so your drop will be a minimum distance, crouch and drop through to the floor below. Creep over and get the nanokey you saw. It’s to the cathedral main door.

21. Get out the regular pistol and head west to the end of the room. Creep left and go through the arch and stop. Look up and left and you’ll see a sniper standing with his back to you. A perfect target.

22. After you get the sniper continue south around a stairwell to a balcony and turn left. At the end of the balcony is a crate that contains 10mm ammo. Return to the library.

23. Keep the regular pistol ready and creep down the stairs from the library. Near the bottom you can see a commando with his back to you. Wait a few seconds and a second will come from a room to the left. When he turns to face you, you have just enough time to give him two head shots and when he falls do the same to the commando behind him.

24. The key on the table is another main door key. There is as a 100-credit chit there as well. There’s a datacube in the little room at the east end where the second commando is. Properly interpreted the message contains two keypad codes, 1941 and 0022, and a login and password; 34501, 08711. Make sure you get the weapon mod (recoil) from between the bed and the wall. Apply it to the regular pistol.

25. Head down the hallway to the north and enter the first room on the left. From the shelf get a 100-credit chit.

26. The next room on the left has a 250-credit chit on the table. Ignore the binoculars. The locked door at the end of the hallway leads into the courtyard

27. Go back upstairs to the library and through the arch from which you shot the sniper. Climb the stairs to the left and go up two flights to a landing.

28. Go directly from the stairs into the corner opposite and face right. Soon you’ll hear footsteps coming across the bridge on your left. When the sniper walks into the room shoot him quickly.

29. Face the wall in the direction of the bridge. Sidestep right and look across the bridge. In the opposite entrance you can see another sniper. Quickly snipe him with the scoped pistol. You’ve got to get him with one shot else he’ll call for help.

30. Once you’re across the bridge turn right and creep to the head of the stairs. Below is a sniper. You can see all of him except his head. If you creep down the stairs far enough to see his head, he sees you. Use the F-4 and F-11 keys then creep down the stairs and get him with one head shot. Turn off the augs.

31. When you get to a landing where there’s a doorway off to the right, stay on the main stairs and continue down to the basement kitchen. Talk to the chef. He gives you directions. Don’t roam the kitchen there are two guards loafing in the next room.

32. Go back up three flights of stairs to the landing where the doorway was. Turn left into the doorway and go down two flights of stairs and turn left. Find the huge door with the keypad on the left. Use the code 1942 to get past.

33. Take the stairs down. You can turn off the laser fence by bypassing the electrical panel under the stairs with three multitools.

34. You can outrun the turrets and make it to the security panel without taking any damage. Run straight across the room to the west wall and turn right. Go to the security panel and hack in. Turn all cameras "off" and all turrets to "enemies".

35. In the crates on the floor you can find a LAW (ignore), a box of rockets (on floor by itself), and weapon mods (reload, scope). Use the reload mod on the shotgun. We already have everything scoped so drop the scope mod.

36. Go to the top of the first set of stairs leading in the room, turn and face the room. Scan the top of the crates for one stack that has goodies on top. Go to the panel you bypassed at the main stairs and pick up the small crate. Carry it to the stack that has the goodies on top. Set the crate on the floor next to the stack and climb on top of the small crate. Use the Speed Enhancement momentarily (F-7) to climb to the top of the stack. There’s a bioelectric cell and a weapon mod (range). Use the weapon mod on the stealth pistol.

37. Find the repair bot that’s running around and recharge your bio energy.

38. Leave the gold vault and turn left. At the first landing is a doorway on the left. Creep inside and dispose of the guard walking in there. Be careful not to set off the cameras. Continue to the top of the stairs where there are two doors, one locked and the other unlocked.

39. Approach the unlocked door and put a LAM on the inside right of the doorframe. Back up a ways, get the regular pistol out and open the door. When you see the WIB inside throw a shot her way to get her to chase you then run down the stairs until you hear the LAM go off.

40. Go back to the room and enter. On a table in the entrance area is another cathedral main door key and a datacube with some information you already have.

41. In the next section of the room is a security panel on the inside left of the doorway. Hack it and turn the camera off. On a stand next to the bed is a stealth pistol (ignore). Use one pick to open the locked cabinet. Inside are buckshot, throwing knives (ignore) and a chit worth 400 credits.

42. If you’re lucky the LAM also blew open the other door on the landing that was locked. If not you’ll have to blow it yourself. Just inside the doorway are two crates that contain flare darts and regular darts.

43. Go up the stairs to the first landing where the blinking light is. Click on it to open a secret passage. Go down the ramp and find the ladder. Take the ladder down. The crate on the next level contains a fire extinguisher. Ignore it. The big door is locked and you don’t have the key. Keep going down the stairs to the bottom.

44. Once at the bottom turn left and be confronted by Gunther. When you get a chance, use his killword, Laputan Machine, and he explodes. Too easy, eh?

45. Log on to the computer using 34501 for the user name and 08711 for the password and click on "Establish System Uplink." As you’re going back up the stairs Everett contacts you and tells you to go to the nearest Metro station. Oh, man, we gotta go all the way back through the cathedral courtyard past those bots!

46. Go up the stairs, climb the ladder and open the secret entrance by pushing the button. Go down the stairs past the gold vault and up the next set of stairs to the landing where another stairway leads down into the kitchen.

47. Go down into the kitchen and shoot the two guards sitting by the fireplace. Get some regular darts from the table at the opposite end of the room.

48. Go back up one flight of stairs from the kitchen. The door that was locked and exits to the courtyard is now miraculously open. Wait until the bot outside passes going to your right then sneak out the door and slightly right. Get behind the huge planter against the wall.

49. When the bot is moving away run south to the exit and out of the cathedral grounds. Go over the bridge and continue to the Metro station which will be on your right. When you get there, go down and through the doors.

50. Enter the huge room. The bots and guards won’t bother you unless they catch you doing something. Let’s take some time out to explore.

51. Cross the large room and go through the door in the east wall. Find the technician and buy an accuracy mod and a range mod. Use the accuracy mod on the crossbow and the range mod on the stealth pistol.

52. On the east side of this room is a ledge. Push one of the couches against the wall. Behind the little kiosk by the door is a metal crate you can pick up. Take it and place it on top of the couch. Make sure the crate lands on the top of the backrest, not on the seat. Climb the couch, climb the crate and momentarily use F-7 (Speed Enhancement) to climb the ledge.

53. Break open the crate and get the multitool. Read the diary. It contains an account number, 756001 and a PIN, wyrdred0. The PIN is missing the last number, but since it’s got to be between 0 and nine, it can be easily guessed. It’s 8. See how easy that was?

54. Go to the door in the north wall. When the guards aren’t looking break the glass with the crowbar and enter. Find the repair bot and recharge bio energy. Find the ATM machine and use the account# 756001 and the PIN wyrdred08 to get in. Empty the account of the 900 credits it holds. Hacking the machine gets you nothing.

55. Go through the door in the south wall and down to the tube. When you get there face left and Everett’s assistant will come running up to you. Agree or not, to his demand, you still go to see Everett.

 

EVERETT’S HOME

1. Go to the east side of the house and turn left. Go into the bedroom and on the table by the bed is a PS20 and a 100-credit chit. In the adjoining bathroom is an aquarium hatch nanokey and a medkit. The mirror is also a hidden door. Leave it for now.

2. In the kitchen is another 100-credit chit on a set of shelves against the wall. In the east wall of the kitchen is a narrow door.

3. Go through the door and take the stairs down. At the bottom you’ll find a repair bot and two crates. The crates contain two prod chargers.

4. Keep going past the two huge aquariums and up the stairs. Take the left turn when the passage branches. Inside the next room you find Alex, your old communications buddy from UNATCO HQ. He says you shouldn’t trust Everett. Talk to him twice.

5. On the counter next to Alex are an EMP grenade and a bioelectric cell. Hack into the PC and find two codes, 2384 and 6426, in an email.

6. Use the med bot in the next room to restore health. You can find a bioelectric cell and a datacube on the shelves. The datacube contains a password only, pynchon, but you can guess the way logins have been going during the game that the login is meverett.

7. Use four multitools to get into the keypad protected room. Talk to Morpheus, the prototype AI system in the corner several times just for kicks. On the table against the wall are a bioelectric cell, a mirror lock nanokey, two plasma clips and a book.

8. Continue up the hallway from Alex’s room and find Everett. Talk to him and you find out JC has to go to Vandenberg Air Force Base. Everett gives JC the key to the helipad doorway.

9. Find the security terminal on one of the pillars and hack in: all cameras "off", everything else "unlocked" and "open".

10. Take the augmentation canister upgrade. Forget the augmentation canisters, we can’t use any more. Apply the upgrade to the Spy Drone. Use two picks on the locked cabinet. We can’t use the laser modification but take the accuracy mod and use it on the crossbow. Don’t forget the multitool.

11. There’s a grate in this room that you can open with a lockpick and take a swim in the aquarium. For that you get a small exploration bonus and some darts. We’ll save the pick and forgo the swim.

12. If you open the mirror in the bathroom upstairs and use two picks to open the gate, you can find Lucius Debeers in cryogenic suspension. It’s interesting but has no effect on the rest of the game. We’ll save picks and pass it up. If you’re curious, just save the game, use the picks and reload the saved game when you’re done.

13. In the south wall of the room you entered is a door. Unlock it with a nanokey and go through. Upstairs you can find a dead mechanic and the live mechanic you find acts very strange. Open the crate in the SE corner of the hangar and get a LAM.

13. Go back to Everett and report the strange behavior of the mechanic. Everett says that from the description of the mechanic he’s not one of his men. He tells JC to get rid of him.

14. Go back to the helipad and shoot the mechanic. By doing so you enable Jock to find a bomb hidden on the chopper. This keeps Jock from being killed at the start of the last mission. Once that’s done, get on the chopper and head for Vandenberg AFB.
