Engineering Map 1
The Fluidic Computer in Engineering Control
The coolant tubes (red)
are flooded with radiation and will remain so until you flush them. Go right from the
small room you're in, location 1, and head for the
resurrection chamber at the south end of the coolant tubes. Activate the chamber.
Head to Engineering Control (yellow)
by going through the door a location 4 (green)
and continuing to location 4 (brown).
Take the grav lift there upstairs. When you get there you discover Sanger has reset
the codes to the door and has gone to Cargo Bay 2. Head to Cargo Bay 2 by following the
markers on the floor that point to "Cargo Bays", south to location 7.
Inside the small chamber, just before location 7, that contains the two gun turrets, there's a security office,
location 5. The access card for this room is on the body in
front of the door. Inside are upgrade units for Weapons and PSI. There's also a surgical
unit that will operate if you have a key. There may also be a set of light armor.
Note: The access card you
find in the paragraph above is needed to enter a room on Deck 4, Operations, Map 3,
Location 5, to satisfy level requirements. Here's a quote from a post to a SS2
forum by one of the game's designers:.
..do you have "SECURITY" in your access MFD? If you don't, then you can't
(currently) get to one of the Sim Units. The Security card is located on a body on the
Engineering Deck, just before the bulkhead, where there were two turrets. We (dev team
& QA) all thought it was trivial to find that card, but a small (and rightfully
annoyed) set of players managed to overlook it the first time through.
FWIW, since this wasn't intended to be a "blocking problem", we're making those
doors unlocked in the patch...
So unless you've patched your game, make sure you
get this card.
Engineering Map 2
The Cargo Bays
Leave the room, turn left, and follow the floor
marker to "Shuttle Bay". Continue south through the next automatic door. As you
step inside the room, location 2, a scene about the
"Others" plays. When this scene is done you may find your character locked in
forward movement mode. If, so, run into a corner (don't touch the center pillar) to stop
your character, then save the game. When you reload this save your character will be
normal.
At the point where the corridors split into three
directions (Cargo Bays 1A,1B; Cargo Bays 2A, 2B, and Command Control), location 4, you have a dilemma. Access to Cargo Bay 2 requires an access
card. Go to Cargo Bay 1 entrance, location 8. The entrance
there seems to require an access card also. Look at the card slot. It's smoking, it's
broken, and the door will open automatically if you step in front of it.
You will encounter "Beavers" in the Cargo
Bays. Go to location 3, in Cargo Bay 1A (red), and get the Bay 2A-2B access card from a body on the lower
level.
Now enter Cargo Bay 2 through location 7, and go to Cargo Bay 2B (purple),
(third level) and find Sanger's body, location 5, and a log
that discloses the Engineering Bay codes, 15061.
Now that you have the Engineering codes, go back to
Engineering Control (yellow), Map 1.
Engineering Map 1
Back to Engineering Control
Once back in Engineering Control (yellow) you find Xerxes has overridden the Fluidics Computer and
you can't get it to work. Delacroix has left a log describing a back door she has
installed that you can enable by getting unit 45m/dEx from Aux Storage 5, key code 34760,
and installing it in Command Control.
Go back to the coolant tubes (red)
to map location 6, Aux Storage 5, use the key code 34760 to
get in.
On one of the racks in the room find unit 45m/dEx.
Now is a good time to locate any chemicals you may need to finish research projects.
Now we head for the Command Control center (Map 2, green) to use the part we just found. On the way back through the
coolant tubes, stop by Utility Storage 4 (map location 2),
pass code 59004, and get the supplies Polito has put there for you. Head back to location 7 and Map 2.
Engineering Map 2
Activate the Back Door to Fluidics Control
Computer
Go to map location 6 by
going into the shuttle bay (blue) and taking the grav lift up
to Command Control (green) and use the 45m/dEx unit. The slot
for the unit is directly across from the main entrance and above eye level. Drag the item
from inventory and drop it on the receptacle. Command Control also contains
Stats/Weapons upgrade units and a resurrection chamber.
Engineering Map 1
Flush the Tubes
Go all the way back to Engineering Control, yellow area, Map 1, and right click on the Fluidic Controls.
Restart Port/Starboard Engine Nacelles
Go back through the now flushed cooling tubes to map
location 8, entrance to the Engine Core (beige). From there go to map location 9,
Port Nacelle Control Panel (green area), and right click on
the panel.
Go to map location 10 (white), Starboard Nacelle Control Panel, and right click it.
Reset Main Power
Go back to the Engine Core (beige)
and take the elevator up to Core Control (purple) to map
location 11 and right click on the Main Power Computer.
Try to Get to Deck 4
Go to the elevator, Coolant Tubes (red), map location 3, and try to go to
Deck 4 (Operations). When you select Deck 4, you get a message that says, "Error!
Shaft inaccessible!". So, select Deck 3, Hydroponics.
