- City of the Dead -

1. When this level starts you're under fire from two snipers in the building behind the motorcycle. One is high in the center of the roof and the second is on a platform at the far right side of the building. Just down the street at the corner is an automatic machinegun (heretofore referred to as AMG) on a ledge to the right. Just around the corner is a waiting bad guy.

2. If you want to shoot it out with the gunmen in the building, okay. After they're taken care of you can climb the platform where the second sniper was and get a revolver.

3. A second way to get out of here is to just forget the snipers and get on the motorcycle. Whatever you choose, keep an eye on your health points because you're constantly under fire.

4. Drive to the end of the street and turn right, run over the bad guy, turn right again then left. You're now heading north.

5. At the next turn you'll see two X-shaped barricades ahead. Turn right; it's the only way you can go.

6. This section of the street is very short. Turn left (north) around a dirt pile into the next section of street. Run over the bad guy, then turn around and run over the fellow coming up from the rear. Remember where this dirt pile is. We'll be back later.

7. Get off the motorcycle. If you continue north to the next intersection you'll come under fire by two AMGs. You can probably find shotgun shells where you ran over the bad guys. If you stand on the dirt pile and look west you'll see the X-shaped construction barriers. We'll go there later, too.

8. So, with the dirt pile at your back, face north up the street where the dead end is. The building at the end has the two AMGs on the roof. We need to get into the building that makes up the right-hand wall of the street we're on now.

9. Get back on the motorcycle and head to the intersection. You're going to take hits here. Speed to the intersection and turn right and cross in front of the building with the AMGs. Go to the wall at the end of the street. You're out of range of the AMGs here. Notice the iron gate. It's the exit from the level.

10. We need to get into the building directly across from the one with the AMGs and you will be constantly under fire. Run across the street and jump over the small ledge and down into the depression in front of the building. Sprint to the door, open it and go through.

11. Once through the door you're out of range. Inside you'll find a body on a grating. Pull the body off the grating.

12. Sprint back across the street to the motorcycle but don't get on. Turn west and run past the building with the AMGs. Stay right up against the wall and you'll be out of range. Go right into the doorway of the next building, drop down and get a small medkit and a grenade gun.

13. Go back and get on the motorcycle. Drive back to the dirt pile, turn left into a short street and dismount at the end.

14. At the end of the street is a block in the left-hand corner. Climb the block and go through the crawlspace. Drop down and follow the ledges to a room with a lever. Get the small medkit and push the lever. The grating above opens. Return to the motorcycle.

15. Speed west back up the street and use the dirt pile as a ramp to jump and crash through the X-shaped barriers you saw earlier. Past the barriers the weight of the motorcycle will cause the floor to collapse. Get off the motorcycle.

16. Get the small medkit from around the corner and climb into the opening. There is a hole at the right rear of the ledge. Dive into the water, surface and climb out.

17. Follow the corridor into the next room. Clear it of bats and get flares and wideshot shotgun shells from the south end of the room.

18. Find the slide in the west wall and use it to get to the room below. Turn right. There's a laser sight by the body. Continue past the body to the end of the corridor. At the end you should be facing the west wall. A short ramp leads up to the left and a set of stairs that lead to a hole full of water. You'll need to run up those stairs in a minute. Jump up and grab the slot above. Shimmy right until you can pull up.

19. Turn around and face south. You see a large earthenware jar and behind it is a blue ball swinging on a rope. Use the revolver/laser site combo to shoot the blue ball. It releases a ghost. Don't shoot the jar. That releases locusts.

20. To get rid of the ghost, jump to the floor and turn right. Follow the corridor, go up the ramp to the stairs. At the top jump into the water. Let the current carry you to a hole. Dive down through the hole and swim until you can surface and climb out on a ledge.

21. Drop from the ledge to the floor. Find the stairs and go back to the pool. The water is frozen now so slide down to the ice then jump to the ledge across and push the lever.

22. Go back down the stairs, turn right and continue until you find the newly opened door on your right.

23. Follow the ramp up and immediately turn right. Use the crowbar on the doors and get Secret #55, a large medkit.

24. Leave the secret area and go into the next room. Turn right and go to the far corner. In an alcove on the right you'll find a small medkit.

25. Go back to the door and climb the ledge to the left of it. Climb a series of ledges to a crawlspace. If you didn't kill the snipers at the beginning of the level you'll pay for it now.

26. Hang from the opposite edge of the crawlspace and shimmy right until you can pull up. Once inside the ledge you can get the sniper on the roof of the building across the way if you didn't get him at the level beginning.

27. Directly across from the alcove is a column with a lever on it. Jump/grab the lever to pull it down. At gate opens to the left. Shoot the bad guy that shows up there and get the small medkit he leaves. Now, go get the second sniper on the block to the right of the building if you didn't get him at the start of the level. Get a revolver from his perch.

28. Head west from the gate. You're going back to the motorcycle. Follow the twist and turns of the street until you see the construction barriers. Climb up the ledge to them and jump through the hole in the floor.

29. Get back on the machine and head to the end of the corridor and ride right through the wall at the end.

30. Back on the road, turn right and head for the gate you opened previously.

31. Inside the gate make a left down into a ravine, then a right up some stairs.

32. At the top of the stairs is a ramp on the left. Turn right into the passage and turn the motorcycle around and line up on the ramp. Zoom over the ramp to the other side and dismount.

33. Walk south up a ramp toward a wall with a torch. Turn left at the torch and climb up into the alcove with the lever. Shoot the bats and push the lever.

34. Go back to the motorcycle. Ride toward where you pushed the lever but go left up the ramp and down the other side. You're back on the stairs.

35. Follow the stairs back up to the ramp you jumped earlier. Turn right at the ramp then left at the end of the tunnel. You'll drive off a ledge and land in familiar territory.

36. Climb the block on the east wall. Go through the crawlspace and follow the path to the room with the lever. Climb up the hole in the ceiling behind the lever.

37. The next hole in the ceiling is the grate you dragged the dead body from. Above this opening is another crawlspace. Climb up into it.

38. Crawl through, follow the path and push the lever. Go back to the motorcycle.

39. Drive back to the building where you began the level. Drive through the gate at the east end, turn left and drop into the ravine.

40. This time go down the stairs and squash the bad guy at the bottom. Climb the ledge in the east wall, go into the crawlspace and get crossbow ammo.

41. Back on the motorcycle go up two flights of stairs from the bottom. Park the machine where there's a low ledge on the right with a blue-black pillar in the far-left corner. This pillar was raised when you pushed the lever at the top of the stairs earlier.

42. Climb the blue-black pillar, face east and pull up to the walkway. Follow the corridor to an opening that gives you a view of a broken AMG.

43. Do a run/jump and pull up to the ledge by the gun. Get some revolver ammo from the other side of the gun.

44. Go through the doorway behind the gun. Follow the corridor to the next rooftop. From the next rooftop you can see the AMGs that gave you so much trouble earlier. Between them you can see a big red gasoline can. Use the revolver/laser site combo and shoot the can. It will explode and take care of the guns. You can do this while you are out of range of the AMGs.

45. Climb the ledge at the roof's edge. Jump down to the platform below and run/jump/grab the ledge on the building across.

46. Turn left and jump to the roof. Turn north and run/jump across the opening. Walk left and push the lever. Get the small medkit from the corner near the lever.

47. Cross back over the roofs to the broken machinegun. Go to the east end of the ledge and hang/drop to the block below.

48. Run west until you see the construction barricades. You should recognize where you are now. Run back to the building at the beginning of the level, drop into the ravine and climb the stairs to the motorcycle.

49. Drive to the top of the stairs, turn right at the ramp and go out through the opening to the ground below.

50. Head west to the intersection then turn right toward the building that had the AMGs at the top. At that building turn right, then left through the now opened gate.

51. There is one more secret on this level and it's a pain because you can't get it until you find a nitrous oxide upgrade for the motorcycle and it's two levels away.

 

- Chambers of Tulun -

1. Take a right and squash the bad guy around the corner. Take the next left without letting up on the gas. Stay near the wall on the left and jump over the pit.

2. Go around the next left and stop the motorcycle near the low ledge at the end of the street.

3. Climb the step, face north and jump up to the ledge overhead. Enter the opening and follow the corridor. Go through a long crawlspace and drop down. Collect Secret #56, flares, crossbow and revolver ammo and a large medkit.

4. Head back to where you parked the bike and enter the mosque. The entrance is directly south of the opening you used in the last step.

5. In the room with the mosaic tile floor, go to the far right-hand corner and climb the low ledge. Left of a pillar you find a grenade gun.

6. Go back and get on the motorcycle. Drive back to the start of the level. When you reach the pit, stay left to get over. Park the bike by the ramp you came down when the level started.

7. Go through the opening directly across from the ramp (north wall). This is the mosque you were in earlier. Go straight through the building back to the step where you parked the bike earlier.

8. Turn left (west) and go to the next corner and turn left. You'll meet a huge guard that comes from down the street to your right by a wooden spoked wheel. You can't kill him, so run.

9. Run back the way you came and enter the mosque. Run to the far end. Just before you reach the exit where the motorcycle is parked, climb up on the block to the left of the exit.

10. Face north and do a run/jump/grab to the top of the archway. Walk out on the ledge past the arch and turn left (west). Run/jump/grab the ledge and shimmy right until you can pull up.

11. Face the textured north wall and stand/jump/grab it. Shimmy right around the wall to the next ledge.

12. Follow the ledge to the end and turn left into the corridor. At the corridor's end climb up and follow this corridor to the roof of the mosque to a lever.

13. Remember the large spoked wheel near where you first spotted the guard? When the lever is pushed the doors of the mosque close and lock the guard inside. However, they're on a timer and will open after a period of time. You have to get out of the mosque and back to that wheel before the doors open.

14. There's also a secret that can be picked up along the way. To cheat the timer, we're going to get the secret before we push the lever.

15. When you approached the lever you walked across a sloped section of the roof. Go to that section and face south. You see the rope hanging down and to the right of the rope a small sloped section you'll use to jump to the rope. Right of that small sloped section is a level space. Run/jump to the level space.

16. Once there, though it doesn't look like it, you can walk out on the sloped section. Face the rope. Behind the rope and slightly right is an opening. You can see a large medkit from where you are.

17. Stand/jump to the rope. Twist to face the opening and swing over there. Collect Secret #57, the large medkit and from the opposite end of the area, shotgun shells.

18. Two large golden flying bugs will start bothering you here. They can actually pick you up, but they are easily killed.

19. You cannot reach the rope from here to get back. At least I couldn't make Lara jump that far. Stand on the ledge and face the rope. Look down and left. There's a gray ledge below. The one above the archway.

20. Run/jump down to that ledge. Turn right (west), run/jump/grab the ledge on the far wall and shimmy right until you can pull up.

21. Stand/jump/grab the textured wall and shimmy right to the next ledge. Follow the ledge to the corridor and go back to the lever on the roof.

22. Now we get to do it for real. Push the switch and run to the sloped portion of the roof. Jump right to the open area right of the slope in front of the rope. Step up on the small sloped portion and stand/jump to the rope.

23. Twist around on the rope until you're facing the large opening in the south wall. Swing over and jump to it.

24. Ignore the bad guy and run slightly right and drop down the hole. Slide down the ramp to the motorcycle.

25. Zoom back around the corner and over the pit, turn left and stop in front of the step in front of the mosque. Dismount and sprint down the street and turn left to the spoked wheel.

26. Turn the wheel three or four times to raise the gate just past the wheel high enough. Run past the wheel, turn right and climb through the opening before the door closes. Quickly climb the ladder to the top. You must get to the top of the ladder before the guard is released, else he will pound his hammer on the ground and the shock waves will knock you off the ladder as you climb.

27. Follow the corridor at the top to Citadel Gate.

 

- Citadel Gate -

1. Hang/drop off the ledge and approach the wounded soldier to see an animation.

2. Pick up the revolver ammo and go east toward the street. Turn right and continue down the street until you encounter the beast.

3. Run south past the beast and follow the turns of the street until you come to a place with banners overhead. A swarm of locusts will probably join you here.

4. Just before the banners, turn right (west) and climb the low ledge. About halfway down the street face north and look up. You should see a hanging rope and a block to climb. Climb the block and jump into the area below.

5. There are three levers on the north wall. Go there and pull the one in the middle.

6. On the west wall there is a torch with a ledge above it. Go left of the torch, walk up on the step, face north and climb up on the ledge. Pull the lever there.

7. Go back to the three levers and pull the left one. The sarcophagus directly behind you slides west and reveals a hole. Pull the right lever and the other sarcophagus opens another hole.

8. Drop down the hole farthest away. Follow the corridor to a broken lever body on the floor. Use the crowbar.

9. Climb back out of the hole and drop into the one by the other sarcophagus.

10. Run to the end of the corridor and pull the lever. Locusts attack. Climb back out of the hole before you're consumed.

11. A door has been opened in the east wall. Go through and follow the corridor to the top. There are bats at the beginning, so be ready for them. Near the top locusts appear but you can walk through them and they go away, after biting you, of course. After the animation plays and you approach the rope, more bats attack.

12. Run/jump/grab the rope. Twist all the way around and face the ledge you just jumped from. There are large bells left and right of the ledge. Swing over to the bell on the right. It's difficult. I only tried it about ten times. You have to either land on the ledge where the bell rests or grab the edge of the tile the bell rests upon. You have a very small target area. The tendency is to land on the sloped roof to the right of the bell.

13. Hang from the bell's ledge, release and grab the ledge below. It's a crawlspace. Climb up into the crawlspace, go through and drop to the other side. Get Secret #58, a large medkit, and crossbow ammo.

14. Go back to the crawlspace and hang/drop to the floor. Walk directly south to the corner and turn left into the corridor that takes you back up to the rope.

15. Run/jump/grab the rope and swing across to a ledge above some windows. For some reason there is a large crocodile roaming the street below. If you've the ammo to spare you can kill him from this ledge. You won't ever be in the street below again so it doesn't matter. Turn east and run/jump to an awning.

16. Walk to the edge of the awning and stand/jump to a ledge. On this ledge you will be attacked by one of the golden bugs that can pick you up. Kill it.

17. Run/jump slightly left to another awning. Turn southeast and run/jump to a small roof above some windows. Another flying bug attacks here. You are now above the street with the banners.

18. Above this ledge is a set of monkeybars. Jump up and grab them. Swing over the street, drop and grab the ledge below. Shimmy left and pull up into a crawlspace. Get the small medkit then crawl out and drop to the ledge below. A golden bug will probably attack you during this process.

19. Face southeast and do a standing jump to the awnings below. Face south and run/jump grab the orange opening. Follow the corridor around and down to a ledge overlooking a pit. Shoot some bats.

20. Get ready for a vicious fight. Turn right and stand/jump toward the area where the overturned jeep is. You'll land just below the ledge. Two golden flying bugs will attack here. Quickly, climb the ledge and blast away at the bugs.

21. Walk to the far side of the jeep and get the nitrous oxide container.

22. Do a running jump across the pit toward the taxi. Head east through the opening and follow the streets back to the wounded soldier. You'll have to dodge the beast on the way. It shoots fire and never misses.

23. When you get back to the soldier an animation plays. Climb up the ledge to the south and follow the corridor back to the Chambers of Tulun.

24. At the end of the corridor you can look down and see our old friend the guardian of the mosque. Climb down the ladder, or at least try to. The guardian will knock you off before you get to the bottom.

25. Turn south and follow the corridor and go left into a niche. Face the east wall and climb up. The top is sloped so you'll slide down to the guardian. Sprint away and head back to the motorcycle.

26. Drive up the ramp to the north and enter the Trenches.

 

- Trenches -

1. Stop at the top of the ramp and dismount. Head east down the street toward a palm tree. Climb the ledge in front and continue into the narrow opening behind the tree.

2. Exit the opening and turn left. Follow the street around a few corners to where you make a left and there's a building, also on the left, with three streetlights on the columns out front. Just around the first column is a bad guy. Take him out.

3. At the end of the street is an intersection. To the right is a room with an AMG (automatic machine gun). Turn right. The door is offset to the left so you can approach from the right and be out of the line of fire.

4. Run inside the door, head to the right and hide behind some boxes. You'll take some hits, no way around it. Crawl around the room to the north corner behind a wall and stand up. You can stand next to the edge of the square hole in the wall without getting shot and shoot the gas container that's attached to the rear of the AMG. Use the revolver/laser sight combo.

5. Climb the tallest box, face north and run/jump/pull up on a ledge across the way. Drop through the hole and follow the corridor.

6. Close to the end of the corridor there's a crawlspace near the ground on the west wall. Crawl through. As you do, a bad guy shoots at you and you have to dodge steam pulsing from broken pipes.

7. Get through quickly as you can and take care of the bad guy. I suspect you'll have to use some medkits here. Get the small medkit from the west end of the room.

8. Go into the opening in the north wall, face west and climb up into the alcove. Face east and shoot the gas can on the AMG as well as the bad guy off in the distance behind it.

9. Drop to the room below and crawl back past the steam pipes to the street. Continue in the direction you were going and turn right at the intersection.

10. At the end of the street is a step-up. On the ground to the right is another crawlspace with steam pipes. Crawl through it and get the Weapon Code Key. Return to the opening.

11. Go straight to a ledge with yellow lights above it. Jump up and grab the slot. Shimmy right around a corner, avoid the steam and keep shimmying around the next corner. Drop down and engage the bad guy. There's also an AMG that's malfunctioning, fortunately. Climb the ledge behind the AMG and get a large medkit.

12. Drop off the AMG ledge, turn right and go to the burning Rover. Go to the hood and use the crowbar to get the Valve Pipe. A bad guy will attack you while you're prying. When you're done chastise him for his rude interruption.

13. Now you have all the ingredients to get that last secret in the City of the Dead. Remember that? In inventory combine the Valve Pipe with the Nitrous Oxide Canister to make the Nitrous Oxide Feeder. Now you've some boost for the motorcycle.

14. Go back to the crippled AMG, jump/grab the slot and shimmy left back to the starting point.

15. Walk to the crawlspace with steam pipes and turn right into the narrow street. Follow the street and take the next left. Go past the first crawlspace you entered. Follow the corridor to the end and climb up to the space overlooking the boxes where you destroyed the first AMG.

16. Drop into the room, go to the street and turn left. Follow the street to the palm tree and continue to the motorcycle.

17. Walk up to the motorcycle like you were going to get on. Instead open the inventory and use the Nitrous Oxide Feeder.

18. Get on the motorcycle and head south up the ramp. Go up the second ramp into the Chambers of Tulun.

19. Head left at the intersection and follow the street over the pit. At the end of the street go left up the ramps back to the City of the Dead.

20. Exit the gate and turn right. Go to the end of the street and turn left. Follow the street to a steep hill going down. There will probably be a bad guy on a ledge to the left.

21. At the bottom of the hill turn right. Ahead is a huge pit. Line up on the left side of the hill leading to the pit. Use the nitro boost to jump over.

22. Dismount on the opposite side and take care of the bad guy. Walk over to and climb up on the platform that contains the pillars with the sloping tops.

23. Limber up your fingers 'cause we've got some jumping to do. There are four pillars with sloping tops. You must jump to each pillar then jump off the last to land on a ledge. So it will be a combination of four backward jumps in a row while sliding down slopes.

24. Go to the pillar on the south end of the platform. Stand in front of the face where the slope at the top slopes down toward you. Line up with the outside edge (right edge). Climb to the top and immediately jump backwards. When you hit the second pillar and begin sliding immediately jump backwards again. Continue this through the third and fourth pillar. If you're successful you'll land on a slope facing east.

25. Walk down the slope and drop to the floor. Collect Secret #59, grenades, a large medkit and crossbow ammo. Go back and climb up to the slope. Stand jump to the sloping pillar across and as you slide off the ledge backwards grab the edge. Drop to the ground.

26. Go back the motorcycle. There's only one way out. Line up on the ramp to the left of the pit and use the nitro boost to get back over. The run to the ramp looks really short but it's long enough. Just back the motorcycle up against the wall and gun it.

27. Drive back to the gate and go through. Go up the ramps to the right and back to the Chambers of Tulun.

28. Go to the bottom of the hill and turn right. Make the next left, staying to the left, and jump the pit.

29. On the other side of the pit against the right wall is a set of steps. Use the nitro boost and zoom up the steps and into the building across.

30. Get off the motorcycle and climb the one large step to the west. Follow the walkway to a door and enter. There will be a bad guy inside, of course.

31. Follow the corridor to a ramp and slide down. Go north across the room into a corridor. Follow it to a bad guy and a room. At the opposite end of the room get the unlit torch from the ground.

32. Follow the corridor back to the previous room. Go toward the ramp you slid down to get into the room. Just before you get there turn right (west) and walk down another ramp.

33. At the second left turn, you'll meet a bad guy. You'll have to hit the space bar twice to get Lara to draw her weapons. The first press causes her to drop the torch, the second to draw weapons.

34. Regain the torch and continue down the ramp. Take the next left, drop the torch and open the door at the end of the corridor. Take care of the bad guy hiding behind the door. Get the torch and light it by using the torch on the wall.

35. Take the torch back up to the room above and go to the east wall. Climb the ramp there. At the top stand under the silver and red sprinkler head hanging from the ceiling. Use the "action" button and Lara will use the torch to set off the sprinklers.

36. When the sprinklers go off the nearby door opens. Get rid of the torch and go through the door. Make a left at the intersection and push the lever. This turns off the sprinklers and moves a box along a conveyor and dumps it through a hatch into the room where we found the torch.

37. Go back through the door and down to the floor below. Head back through the corridor in the north wall to the room where we found the torch.

38. Climb the crates to the right of the door and face east. Run/jump/grab the ledge across and pull up.

39. Drop down into the next room and face north. Shoot the steel box in the corner. It disintegrates to reveal a gate. Use the revolver/laser sight to shoot the lock off the gate.

40. Walk through the gate and get the Roof Key from the square hole in the wall.

41. Go back to the previous room and up the ramp and through the door where you set off the sprinklers. Go through the door and make the first right. Follow the corridor back to where you parked the motorcycle.

42. Now we need to go back to the Trenches. Ride the motorcycle over the short ramp back into the street. Make a hard right and drive back to the step in front of the mosque.

43. At the step turn right into the opening and drive up the ramp. Park the motorcycle at the top of the next ramp and dismount.

44. Head northeast to the stairs with the green tinted light. Halfway up the stairs, turn right and climb the ledge. Immediately turn around and blast the guy on the roof behind you.

45. Go to the south end of the ledge and step off to the ground below. Jump/grab the handle above to open the trapdoor.

46. Climb up into the crawlspace on the upper left. Crawl through, drop down then climb into a second crawlspace.

47. At the end of the crawlspace turn right. There's a piece of gray stone wedged in the slot leading away from the crawlspace. Use the revolver/laser sight combo to shoot it away.

48. Hang from the edge of the crawlspace and shimmy left around a couple corners and drop to a ledge just past a street light.

49. Walk to the center of the walkway and face south. Jump up and grab the ceiling and monkeyswing across to another ledge. Locusts will munch on you while you swing.

50. Walk into the next area and kill the bad guy. Take the small medkit he leaves.

51. At the west end of this area is a door. Use the Roof Key to open it. Out on the next ledge face north and run/jump/grab the ledge across the street. Shimmy all the way to the left of the building and pull up. Head down the corridor.

52. Climb the block at the end and face the slit in the wall. Get out the revolver/laser sight combo and shoot the small red button you can see through the slit. When you hit it, whatever it's attached to starts smoking.

53. Go back to the ledge. You should be overlooking the motorcycle. Hang and drop to the ground.

54. Get on the motorcycle and head west. Jog right around a corner and you'll see two sets of stairs. Use the nitrous boost while going up the right-hand set of stairs and jump the ramp at the top.

55. Dismount, go to the east wall and climb the ladder. Follow the corridor to the Street Bazaar.

 

- Street Bazaar -

1. Descend the ladder and approach the wounded man in the southeast corner of the room. Watch the animation then pick up the Mine Detonator Body.

2. Go to a workbench on the west wall and get a Handle. Walk behind the car and pick up the Car-Jack Body.

3. Push the big red button on the wall by the ramp. Follow the ramp to a ladder. Left of the ladder and overhead is a crawlspace. Crawl up into it and get a large medkit then climb the ladder.

4. At the end of the corridor on the ledge, jump up and grab the ceiling. Shimmy right and drop down. Don't climb the ledges. Face south and climb up into the crawlspace.

5. Crawl through and drop into the next room. In inventory combine the Car-Jack Body and the Handle to make the Car-Jack.

6. Climb the block and walk to the south wall. Use the Car-Jack to open the grate above. Climb to the roof.

7. When there's a pause in the lightning strikes, run behind it and jump over the box. Locusts use you for their lunch during this operation.

8. In a niche in the east wall is a strange looking machine with a wooden box on top of it. It must be pushed out to where the lightning is striking.

9. Pull the crate away from the entrance by the lightning. Walk around it then push it back out of the way. Pull out the machine, walk around it then push it out to where the lightning is striking.

10. Head east and go to the end of the bridge. Run/jump and grab the ladder across, climb to the top and shimmy left until you can drop to a ledge.

11. Face northeast and look along the roofline. You should see the edge of a walkway that goes around behind where you are. Do a standing jump over there and follow the walkway.

12. Locusts attack so just run around until they're gone then get Secret #60, a large medkit, crossbow ammo and grenades.

13. Walk back to the edge of the room and down the slope. Turn left and stand/jump back to the ledge with the ladder.

14. Climb the ledge left of the ladder and hang from the edge. Drop down a series of slopes to the bottom.

15. Follow the corridor and hop off the ledge at the end. Turn right and go down the ramp into the next room. Immediately inside the room turn right and go down a stone ramp.

16. Get the Mine Position Data from the headless corpse. Combine the Mine Position Data with the Mine Detonator Body to make the Mine Detonator.

17. There is now one of those Egyptian Bulls loose in the room above. Run to the southeast corner of the room and stand in front of the crates on the ledge there. When the bull charges jump left and let him move the crates. Run through the exposed doorway and up the ramp.

18. At the top turn left, shoot the bad guy and follow the path. Take the next left and leave the Bazaar for the Trenches again.

19. Head west down the corridor past the palm tree and go up the set of stairs on the right.

20. Go straight from the top of the stairs and turn left, left again down a ramp, then right at the bottom of the ramp to another set of stairs. Shoot the bad guy at the top of the stairs.

21. Go up the stairs and follow the path to the end. Turn right and climb the ledge to a big pile of sand. Go past the sand and climb the low block.

22. Angle jump up and grab the ledge at the top of the east wall behind the block.

23. Say hello to the motorcycle and climb the ladder back to the Street Bazaar.

24. Climb down into the garage and exit through the door at the foot of the ramp where the wounded guy is.

25. Break through the door at the end and take care of the waiting bad guy.

26. Go to the north end and face right. Take out the bad guy. Face the opposite direction (west) and walk to the skull and crossbones signs that mark the edge of the minefield.

27. Use the Mine Detonator to explode the mines. Jump over the barrier, run across and push the big red button.

28. Head south from the button and you'll find the motorcycle. Get on and drive back to the big red button. Turn left and go up the ramp, squashing a bad guy along the way, and return to Citadel Gate.

29. Turn left then right and use the nitrous boost to jump over the minefield.

30. Stand on the gas because you hit a slope on the other side and you must immediately turn right and run along it to keep from falling off the ledge.

31. Turn left at the taxi. We're going back to the wounded sergeant. That means we have to go past the beast.

32. When you approach the wounded sergeant and long animation plays in which he drives a truck full of explosives into the beast and destroys it, and the motorcycle as well.

33. When you next get control run down the corridor and trigger another animation involving Von Croy. At the end Lara frees Jean and you are at the Citadel.

 

- Citadel -

1. Go south into the next room and climb the stairs in the left-hand corner.

2. Turn right at the top of the stairs. Go into the next room and push the lever. Some golden doors rise.

3. By the torch on the west wall you find an unlit torch. Pick it up and light it.

4. Go to the bottom of the stairs and turn right. Go to the far side of the fountain. A rope stretches across the top of the room. Jump up and ignite it with the torch.

5. Go north back into the main room. The golden doors you raised are on the west wall. Drop down the hole right of the doors.

6. Follow the tunnel down. Just before the last right hand turn, go left and get some wideshot shotgun shells. Continue down to the ledge overlooking the next room.

7. Turn left and stand/jump to the ledge. Turn slightly left again and stand/jump to the ledge above the stairs in the west wall.

8. Face west and across the pit you'll see a flight of stairs going up and left. Run/jump to the stairs and go to the top. Face east, jump up and grab the ceiling. Swing across the room and watch for the crawlspace in the wall to the right.

9. Swing to the wall directly over the crawlspace, drop and catch the edge of the opening. Crawl up and through.

10. Drop from the opposite end of the crawlspace and collect Secret #61, a large medkit and grenades.

11. Go back through the crawlspace and drop into the water below. Swim through the underwater tunnel in the east wall and surface.

12. In the southeast corner of the next room, underwater, are some grenades on a block. Get the grenades and climb out on the ledge there.

13. Face west and run/jump/grab the top of the pillar across the room. Pull up, stand jump to the stairs then climb up on the ledge behind the stairs and face west. You are facing the stairs that lead up to the monkey bars.

14. Hang from the far side of the ledge, release and grab the slot below. Shimmy right to the end of the slot. Drop and grab the slot below. Shimmy right again around two corners and pull up.

15. Crawl through and drop into the water. Wade to the end of the water and pick up the Uzi magazines. Turn right and crawl up into the crawlspace.

16. Save your game here. Crawl through and hang from the ledge. Drop and immediately do a backflip when you hit the slope below. Forward jump when you land on the next slope and grab the slot in the wall. Shimmy left and pull up. Get the small medkit.

17. Turn south and run/jump/grab the ledge across and pull up. Go up the stairs then continue up a set of ramps. There are bad guys that snipe at you all along the way. Push the lever at the top of the last ramp. It turns off the firetrap guarding a large medkit.

18. There's a small alcove west of the lever. Hang/drop from the edge of the hole. Head north down the corridor. Stop and pick up the large medkit.

19. Go down two flights of stairs and an animation runs. Enter the next room. This puzzle is simple. Each of the four pedestals has a letter on the top, N,S,E, or W, that designates a compass direction. Simply side each pedestal to the circle on the floor that corresponds to the compass point shown on top of the pedestal. When you're finished, doors in walls open.

20. Before you do anything else, search the corners of the room to find two types of grenades and a small medkit. Go through the door in the west wall.

21. Follow the stairs down and climb the ledge at the bottom. Go to the south wall, drop into the depression and get the flares.

22. Climb out of the depression and jump through the hole in the center of the room and down into the water. Surface in the small hole under where you dropped and get oriented.

23. Dive down and head south through a tunnel. Follow the tunnel into the next room. There's a T-shaped lever in the ceiling you must pull. It's very hard to see and is colored yellow. Pull the lever and swim back to your starting place and get some air.

24. Dive north and follow the long corridor into a room where you can surface. Climb out on the south side. Get the revolver ammo left of the doorway then go through the door.

25. Follow the ramps up and you're back in the room with the four pedestals. Go through the opening in the east wall.

26. Follow the corridor down to a room with two gad guys and a lever. Shoot the bad guys and push the lever.

27. Go back to the puzzle room and through the door in the north wall. Follow the corridor down and get back in the water. Swim back through the corridor to the next room and surface. The water level has been lowered.

28. Swim to the west wall and climb up into the opening. Follow the corridor to the end and push the lever.

29. Go back to the water and swim through the opening in the north wall. Climb out and follow the corridor to the chain. Pull the chain once to open a sliding panel.

30. Climb out and take care of the bad guy. Get the small medkit he leaves behind and head east through the door.

31. Near the end of the passage climb into the crawlspace in the east wall. When you drop off the opposite side, two Crusader skeletons attack. You need these guys to help you.

32. There is a wooden platform near where you dropped. Run from the Knights and climb the platform. Follow the ramp up until some wooden crossbars block your way.

33. Stand facing the crossbars. The Knights are very slow moving but they'll catch up to you. When the lead Knight starts to strike you, jump back and his slash will destroy the wooden barrier.

34. Run around the Knights into the newly opened tunnel, turn right and climb the ledge. The Knights won't follow.

35. Head up the slope into the next area. Turn right and get some Uzi magazines near the east wall. Go north from her down a short corridor and get flares.

36. Drop into the center of the room where the torches are. On the west side of the room, under a torch, is a pit. Go to the south side of the pit, left of the torch.

37. Turn around and hang from the edge. Drop and catch the edge below. Climb up into the crawlspace, go through and drop to the ground.

38. Follow the corridor and climb the ledges. At the top climb one more ledge and you're in a room with two more slow-moving Knights. Dodge the Knights and collect Secret #62, a large medkit, grenades, wideshot shotgun ammo, crossbow and revolver ammo. When you're done slide down the ramp in the east wall to escape.

39. Drop down to the torches in the center of the room. Head north between the torches to end the level.
