I have a NextCloud instance that I have run for over a year. In the meantime, there have been several updates. In fact, there was one yesterday that I installed. The Admin section has a nice tool for installing the update and it has worked seamlessly each time.

Today, my web host sent an alert that I was running low on space. Looked into it some and found there is a folder under /nextclouddata/updater-xxxxxxxx/backups that contain all the downloads for versions that I had previously updated. Since the updates were successful, there is no need to keep all these old downloads hanging around.

So far, it’s deleted around 90,000 files in 15,000 folder. That should help with my space problem.
