The following is some of the books I read in 2023 that I thought were pretty good.
Science Fiction
Wool by Hugh Howey was excellent. It’s the first book in the Silo series of books. Lots of mystery and surprises.
A Call to Duty and A Call to Arms by David Weber: Are the first two books in the Manticore Ascendant series, a prequel to the Honor Harrington books.
Upgrade by Blake Crouch
All Clear by Connie Willis is another in the Oxford Time Travel series.
Logan’s Run by George Clayton Johnson & William F. Nolan is a classic..
Mystery
A Study in Scarlet Women and A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas is a different take on Sherlock Holmes where “Sherlock” is actually a perceptive woman working behind the scenes, posing as Holmes to solve mysteries.
Non-Fiction and Inspirational
I have felt the need to do more non-fiction reading. Here a copy of examples from 2023.
The Bullet Journal Method by Ryder Carroll
Made for More: 7 Proven Strategies for Reaching Your Full Potential by Brian Kinsey
Essential Doctrines of the Bible by David K. Bernard
Atomic Habits by James Clear
Blessed: Ninety Days to Change Your World by Ken Gurley
The Holy Bible ESV (English Standard Version) translation.
I generally shoot for reading 50 books a year. That works out to about 1 book a week.
