Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Philippians 4:6 - NKJV

"Be anxious for nothing". The Lord is letting us know that He has dominion over worry and anxiety.

1 Peter 5:7 - KJV Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

We try so hard to be in control of everything. But, how about giving God a chance to be in control?

Freedom

2 Corinthians 3:17 - KJV Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

John 8:36 - KJV If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Thank God for delivering you from sin. Ask Him to help you resist the enemy’s plan of attack to keep you from walking in victory. The freedom that comes from God transcends freedom that can be found in earthly nations. That is a thought to meditate on.

Galatians 5:1 - KJV Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Thank Him for the power to remain free from the chains that had us bound in sin.

Healing

Isaiah 53:5 - KJV But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Thank Him for His healing power. When Jesus healed the sick, he would often precede the healing by telling the person that their sins were forgiven. This was to let us know that he has power not only to heal, but also to save. You can find those stories by reading the "Gospels", the books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

1 Peter 2:24 - KJV Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Thank Him for the miracles He has done for you.

Power over the enemy

Luke 10:19 - KJV Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Thank God for power over the enemy. Pray you would be mindful of the enemy’s attacks and be willing to stand in the gap.

James 4:7 - KJV Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

What else are you thankful for today? Yes, God knows everything. But, He still desires to hear from His children. Let's thank Him today for what he is doing in our lives. I think the following scripture sums it up best:

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
